Yesterday was the Tony Awards, and P!NK, who never starred in a Broadway show, hosted the Great White Way’s biggest night.
Broadway is a majestic street. And majestic is exactly how I would describe the opening number. The singer reworked Lady Marmalade, her #1 hit with Christina Aguilera, Mya, and Lil’ Kim, for the movie Moulin Rouge, which is now a Broadway Show, to describe the nominees and Broadway’s dazzling year.
And it was dazzling to see how the nominated shows were incorporated into the number. But when it comes to Broadway, it is either go big or go home. So they went massive!
So massive, all the other award shows were left in the dust! Because no one does it better than Jews, Gays, and New Yorkers!!!
I betcha by next year’s Tonys, P!NK will have made her Broadway debut after last night’s spectacular outing. It is just a question of which one she will say yes to first.
