The Librarians: The Next Chapter was picked up by The CW, but they decided to pass on it. Their loss was TNT’s gain. That is because they decided it was time to get back into scripted with their biggest franchise, The Librarians!
The Librarians: The Next Chapter is a spinoff that takes place in Europe with a different group of Librarians and a Guardian.
Jacob Stone (Christian Kane) meets Vikram Chamberlain (Callum McGowan), who has been frozen in time for 200 years. Vikram was the Librarian in his time, and now he is being tasked to be the Librarian at the Belgrade Library.
He has the Librarian part down, but getting used to the 21st Century and the changes, not so much. Thankfully, he will have some help from his trainees, Lysa (Olivia Morris) and Connor (Bluey Robinson), as well as Guardian Charlie (Jessica Green).
Lysa is a scientist, so she doesn’t believe in magic. However, it is hard not to believe in something you are seeing. She is the practical one, which is good because it keeps them grounded in reality.
Connor is the opposite. He loves magic and gets excited to see it come to life. In ways, he is the teacher because he has been researching it ever since he was a kid. He and Lysa do not get along, but their yin and yang work well together when they fight the artifacts’ creation.
And then there is Charlie. She is a tough protector, but she is also a woman who wants to fit in. She offers all of them more than just her protection.
Together, the four of them are going to take on ghosts stuck in time and ballet shoes that try to take out whoever wears them.
Dean Devlin worked his magic once again to create a show that everyone can enjoy. It has comedy: Sci-Fi, heart, thrill, and so much more. The show is so cool, it will warm your Summer nights!
The Librarians debuts tonight after the basketball playoffs.
