Back in late October, Alec Baldwin accidentally shot and killed the cinematographer of the movie he was working on, along with injuring the director with the same bullet. Somehow the actor was handed a gun with live ammunition, and he didn’t know it.
Since then, he has taken part in impromptu chats with the media on the street. But he has not done a sit-down interview since then. Tomorrow night at 8p, he will talk to ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos about that day and the days since.
The anchor said this interview “was the most intense” one he has done in the last 20 years because Baldwin is so raw.
I feel for Baldwin because other people screwed up, leading to him accidentally killing someone. Something that never should have happened after what happened to Jon Erik Hexum and Brandon Lee. However, I hope his hubris doesn’t come out during this interview. It doesn’t help that Stephanopoulos is cold and robotic. That lack of empathy could cause Baldwin to say something he shouldn’t, which brings me back to hubris.
I will be watching this episode. And I will also watch next week’s 20/20, on December 10th, where they take a look at how the investigation into the shooting is going so far.
