Every year, there is a low-budget Horror movie that becomes an immediate cult classic. In 2020, it was Killer Sofa, the year before that it was The VelociPastor, and the movies that came before them like Birdemic. They are films that are so bad and so unimaginable that you can’t stop watching them over and over again. You will also feel the need to share them with your friends and family.
This year’s film is going to be The Mutation by director Scott Jeffrey. It is about a deadly experiment on a rat that goes wrong, the mutated rat has been let loose in a city and a group of detectives are on the hunt for the beast. Zoologist, Allen Marsh must work alongside a grieving widow to help the detectives capture and exterminate the mutated rat. As the body count rises, no one is safe, and the rat is growing at a rapid pace!
If the description is not enough to make you want to watch it, then the trailer will be. I mean, the growl from the oversized rat is awesome enough. But, its gets better when you see him outside of the house. Normally, I hate CGI monsters, but in this case, it works. Don’t tell me you didn’t say “oh sh!t” when you saw it on the roof. I know I did.
That is why I can’t wait to own it on October 5th when it will become available on DVD, OnDemand, and Digital. It is the perfect Halloween month treat.
