The best part of Project Runway moving to Lifetime is we got Models of the Runway! The show that airs after Project Runway on Thursdays at 11p goes behind the scenes with the models that up until now have been silent and let’s just say they have a lot to say. It’s about time we finally heard what they had to say about the designers and the clothes they design.
So are you a model and think you could walk the Project Runway and make Models of the Runway interesting than The Weinstein Company is looking for you!!!
Hopeful models can enter the Models of the Runway Casting Challenge on myLifetime.com, MySpace at www.myspace.com/modelsoftherunway or ProjectRunway.com, where they can complete an online application and upload an introductory video and three photos of themselves. They will also be required to submit other materials, including a brief essay that outlines why they feel they deserve to be on Models of the Runway and how, if selected, it would change their lives. Functionality for Models of the Runway Casting Challenge will be provided by leading online interactive casting site GotCast.com.
The winner of the Models of the Runway Casting Challenge will be selected from a multiple round, online voting process in conjunction with guidance from the Program’s producers and Lifetime during the final stage of the competition. Call for entries and the first round of voting on myLifetime.com, MySpace and ProjectRunway.com will end September 20, 2009, when the challenge’s contestant pool will be reduced by approximately 25%. Remaining contestants will be required to provide additional videos and information to secure more online votes to advance to the third round. The Models of the Runway Casting Challenge contestants will then be put through the next round of online voting, with five prospective models scheduled to be announced on October 31, 2009. The winner will be unveiled in November of this year.
Hurry up and enter and if you do let me know! BTW don’t forget to watch Project Runway tonight on Lifetime at 10p where the designers work in pairs and you know that spells tension. And that is not the only show we will see tension on tonight because from the previews of Models of the Runway that airs at 11p looks like not all the models are getting along!!!
In other Weinstein Company news, the critically acclaimed independent movie studio has acquired the rights to The King’s Speech. The movies tells the story of the man who would become King George VI, the father of the current Queen, Elizabeth II. After his brother abdicates, George ‘Bertie’ VI (Colin Firth) reluctantly assumes the throne. Plagued by a dreaded nervous stammer and considered unfit to be King, Bertie engages the help of an unorthodox speech therapist named Lionel Logue (Geoffrey Rush). Through a set of unexpected techniques, and as a result of an unlikely friendship, Bertie is able to find his voice and boldly lead the country into war. Sounds like a really interesting movie and you know TWC will do it right!

WSYR’s Rod Wood was taping a standup when he got stung by a bee and to say he was not happy about it would be an understatement. Why can’t moments like that happen on live TV? Maybe if they did I would watch the news more often?

Hayden Panettiere was on the Heroes set wearing what looks like her old cheerleader uniform, and I wonder does it mean we will Save the Cheerleader, Save the World again? I think it has something with the rumor that Hiro is going in back in time this season and reliving key moments and that was a huge moment. Why do you think Claire Bennet is back in old uniform?
BTW I so can’t wait for Heroes to come back on NBC on September 21st!!!
Before Jackson Walker went into watch himself in the #1 movie The Final Destination at the Warner Bros premiere for the movie, he revealed to me that he doesn’t just a play The Cowboy he is one in real life.
Jackson Walker plays Jonathan Groves aka The Cowboy in FD4 and his part in the chain of death’s plan is something that has never happened in any other Final Destination movie in the franchise. So when I asked him what is his favorite death in the whole series, he told me his and not because he is being vain but because he has the only death that was in the original book series according to the brilliant producer Craig Perry. When you see the film you will see just how hot it is!
I wondered if he is playing a character called The Cowboy, does that mean he is one real life too? He told me, “I live on a farm. I drive a tractor. And I have a tractor tattoo.” And then as you can see in the interview above he showed my his ink. How cute is his reaction after he showed me his really cool tractor trailer?
So what will The Cowboy be riding next? You can vote for the short movie, The Rift, that he is starring in at The Doorpost Film Project, he will be on an episode of The CW’s Vampire Diaries and he will begin filming Tyler Perry’s Georgia Sky. Heck I might just watch a Tyler Perry movie just because he is in it!
Now back to The Final Destination, this was the movie I wanted to see to all year long because the Final Destination movies are my favorite horror franchise of the last 10 years and it totally didn’t disappoint! If you are looking for something fun to watch over the Labor Day weekend, put this 3D movie on the top of your list. I promise you will have as much fun as I did watching it especially with the added bonus of 3D. There is nothing like seeing blood and guts fly off the screen at you!!!
