Lane Garrison pleads guilty
May 21st, 2007 under Lane Garrison. [ Comments: none ]

Lane Garrison, as expected, plead guilty today in a Beverly Hills courtroom for the accident that killed Vahagn Setian. He plead guilty for vehicular manslaughter, felony DUI with bodily injury and supplying a minor with alcohol. Garrison could be sentenced for almost 6 years on August 2. According to TMZ the original date was set for August 1st, but Setian’s family asked to move it because that would have been Vahan’s birthday. I am glad that Garrison plead guilty and did not force Setian’s family to go through a long trial.

Doesn’t look like Lane Garrison will get a Prison Break?
March 8th, 2007 under Lane Garrison. [ Comments: none ]

Entertainment Tonight has learned that Prison Break star Lane Garrison will be charged with with vehicular manslaughter, driving under the influence and providing alcohol to a minor for the car accident that cause the death of 17 year old Vahagn Setian. If convicted he can face up to six years in jail. After he turns himself in today he will have to post a bail of $200,000 to get out of jail. According to In Touch Weekly, Joe Simpson will post that bail. "Lane is like a brother to Jessica and Ashlee and like a son to Joe and Tina," the insider tells In Touch. "They all feel terrible about this tragedy." A friend of Garrison's had this to say about him, "Lane has been a wreck over this tragedy. Guilty or innocent, he knows he'll have to live with this for the rest of his life." I am sure he feels bad about what happened, after all he is human, but he still should not have been out drinking and driving with minors. He is in his late 20's and should know better.

Police want Lane Garrison charged on 3 counts
February 19th, 2007 under Lane Garrison. [ Comments: 1 ]

Beverly Hills police said today that they will recommend that prosecutors charge a 26-year-old actor with several felonies in connection with a December car crash that killed a Beverly Hills High School student. Lane Garrison, co-star of Fox television’s "Prison Break," was behind the wheel of a 2001 SUV when he lost control and plowed into a tree on South Beverly Drive near Olympic Boulevard on Dec. 2. The crash claimed the life of 17-year-old Vahagn Setian, a popular Beverly Hills High student. Two 15-year-old girls, who were not Beverly Hills High students, were seriously hurt. Authorities said they are seeking at least three charges, including gross vehicular manslaughter, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Beverly Hills police said officers also found containers of alcohol inside Garrison’s SUV. Beverly Hills Police Chief David Snowden said Garrison had a blood-alcohol level of more than 0.15% — about double the state’s legal limit of 0.08%. Investigators presented the case to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office, which will decide whether to charge the actor. A spokesman had no immediate comment.

LA Times

I agree with the police that he should be charged with the crime and not get off easy just because he is a celebrity. I am sure he is sorry for what he did, but he was hanging out with minors and he drove drunk. He made the bed I am sure he does not want to lay in.

ADDITIONAL INFO:

TMZ is reporting that they spoke to several witness from the party who saw him doing lines of coke before he went on that fateful drive?

Joe Simpson fires Lane Garrison from Jessica’s Blonde Ambition?
December 22nd, 2006 under Lane Garrison, Nick Lachey/Jessica/Ashlee Simpson. [ Comments: none ]

Jessica Simpson’s father and manager Joe has fired troubled Prison Break star Lane Garrison from his daughter’s latest movie project. Garrison was a troubled youth in Texas when he moved in with his family’s minister–Joe Simpson. Even though he is still close to the Simpson family, Joe had to let him go from the film because he was set to play a character who was continually drunk. Simpson is currently filming Blonde Ambition with Luke Wilson in Shreveport, Louisiana. Garrison was involved in a car crash earlier this month that killed Vahagn Setian, 17, and injured two other passengers. Alcohol is thought to have been a factor in the crash. This is the latest trouble that Garrison has faced. Just one week after the crash, someone stole his identity and wiped out his entire bank account.

If Joe Simpson has that much power on the movie,  no wonder that movie is being considered to go straight to DVD?

The first pix of Lane Garrison since the fatal accident
December 7th, 2006 under Lane Garrison. [ Comments: none ]

An emotional Lane Garrison was seen weeping and looking very distraught as he left a Los Angeles area church. Garrison was the driver in a weekend accident that killed 17-year-old Vahagn Setian and seriously injured two other teens. He exited Good Shepherd Church in Beverly Hills with tears streaming down his face and his head in his hands. The "Prison Break" actor showed up to the church at 11:30 Wednesday morning, spending 15 minutes inside before his tearful exit.

TMZ

I think he is sincerely remorseful for what happened that night.
