How I Met Your Mother ended in 2014. However, the show’s creator, Craig Thomas, just revealed something about Ted Mosby that is going to make a lightbulb go off in your head.
Thomas just rewatched Say Anything and says the teen angst movie still holds up after a third of a century. And then he added, “Hard to overstate what a big influence it was on #HIMYM — Ted as a sort of older Lloyd Dobler.”
OMG! Now it all makes sense. All the grand gestures he did for the women he dated. How good he was to them. He also cares about his friends. I could go on and on.
But I don’t have to because we all see it now—a total lightbulb moment.
