TNT is thinking of doing a The CW by bringing an old show in to the millennium. According to
TV Guide Magazine, Larry Hagman and Linda Grey have been approached to reprise their roles on an updated version of Dallas. The show, “would focus on their hunky son, John Ross, and Pam and Bobby’s kid, Christopher—with the original players taking on the Jock/Miss Ellie–like supporting grandparent roles.” At this point neither actor has seen a script and won’t agree to do it before then. Linda Grey says she doesn’t want to play an old granny in frumpy clothers, but a powerhouse.
After 90210 and Melrose Place, I don’t think we need a new Dallas. Especially because if by some miracle it did well they probably would bring Dynasty and Knot’s Landing and all of these shows need to stay in ’80s.
One last Dallas note, if you are going to have Bobby’s kids on the show, you need to start off the series with Patrick Duffy in the shower thinking the last few decades have been a dream. Then maybe I would watch.
