TNT announced today that they are renewing the show that NBC cancelled. Southland will begin its 10 episode second season on TNT and third season in total in January.
I have to admit, I have never seen the show but I love when a cancelled show gets a second life like Southland was given one by TNT. My hat is off to TNT for sticking with the show. I hope this sends a message to the networks that one network’s loss might be another one’s gain. Too bad another net didn’t pick up either Moonlight or Swingtown because maybe us fans would still be watching them.
BTW off the top of my head here are some shows that have switched networks…Golden Girls, Taxi, Charles in Charge, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, JAG, Scrubs and now Southland. Some did better on their new channels than others and I am glad most of those show (minus Scrubs and JAG) was given one last chance!
