Although New Moon had a kick a$$ weekend at the box office, it looks like Team Jacob is winning out for upcoming movies. As in Vampires are out and Werewolves are in. There are at least three movies coming out about Werewolves there is Wolfman, (this still one still makes me cry) a remake for An American Werewolf in London and now JoBlo is reporting that The Howling is also being redone. Sounds like they are destroying The Howling: Reborn almost as badly as they destroyed The Karate Kid according to a synopsis that JoBlo got…
The REBORN screenplay opens in a similar manner to the 1981 Dante film, with a young reporter – named Karen White – meeting up with a serial killer who is stalking her. In this version, however, there are no cops who burst in on the scene: she’s confronted and murdered by the killer, who of course turns out to be a werewolf. Only hook is, she was pregnant, and the baby lives… Cut to years later, and Karen’s son – Will – is attending a high-profile prep school, where he’s having weird dreams and the like. Naturally, he’s got wolfy tendencies, and – shock! – so do his friends. Does Will join the dark side (naturally, his friends turn out to be bad news), or fight against his urges and battle his hairy classmates?
Seriously why? Why can’t they just make a Werewolf movie at a prep school instead of saying it has anything to do with The Howling. Does Hollywood like to pretend we are Vampires and put a stake in our hearts with all these sh!tty remakes. The only thing I want for Christmas is for Hollywood to stop doing remakes…do you think I will get that present under my tree?
