Tonight at 10p, New Amsterdam begins its final chapter on NBC. I don’t know if I cried watching the season premiere because of what happened during it or the fact that the medical drama is ending. I think it is a mixture of both.
It starts off with Max (Ryan Eggold) still reeling from Helen leaving him at the altar in the season finale. However, he loves having his old job back now that they get rid of the Wicked Witch of the West Side.
Not only is he back as the medical director of the New Amsterdam, but the show is also back to being how good it was for the first three seasons. Can we ignore last season?
Anyways, Iggy (Tyler Labine), Reynolds (Jocko Sims), and Wilder (Sandra Mae Frank) have some complex cases on their plate. And they will do their magic to help their patients. No matter how good they are as doctors, they can’t always heal the sick. But they are going to try their hardest.
And we don’t have to try to love this series because it comes naturally, just like Eggold’s facial expressions.
