Travel Channel’s Most Haunted will go live for the first time in the US on Friday. The team will investigate Eastern State Penitentiary in Pennsylvania starting at 8p going until 3a.
Since for some reason, I have never talked about this amazing show before on my blog, I will give you a brief show history. Most Haunted is this great show that go to places throughout Europe and the US and investigate to see if they are haunted. Some of the places they have gone to were Count Vlad’s (Dracula) castle and The Queen Mary, but most of the places I have never heard of before. But what is really awesome is they go to places in Europe that are sometimes over 1,000 years old and the architecture is just gorgeous and the history is so interesting. And to top it off they throw into the mix that they are trying to contact ghosts. Although don’t get your hopes up to see a ghost, what you will see are little white lights that travel in weird ways and hear knockings when they are asked questions or footsteps as the spirit enters the room or sometimes you will hear or see things that are thrown at the team. The show team consists of two mediums who survey the area before they switch into night vision and a skeptic who is there to rationalize what the findings were and sometimes he is at a loss to explain what they witnessed.
On Friday not only will you be able to watch the 7 hour live investigation, you will be able to participate in the broadcast! All you need to do is log into the Most Haunted site and watch the webcams and let the Most Haunted team know if there is something else to investigate, “prompting the team to move to other rooms and areas of the abandoned prison and investigate potential paranormal happenings.” How cool does that sound?
Here is a little a history about Eastern State Penitentiary. It is “widely known as one of one of America’s most haunted destinations, to determine whether there is a paranormal presence at this former prison. Eastern State opened in 1829 as part of a controversial movement to change the behavior of inmates through “confinement in solitude with labor.” Some of America’s most notorious criminals were held in the Penitentiary’s vaulted, sky-lit cells, including bank robber Willie Sutton and Al Capone. After 142 years of consecutive use, Eastern State Penitentiary was completely abandoned in 1971, and now stands, a lost world of crumbling cell blocks and empty guard towers.”
Every week I look forward to watching Most Haunted and watching what new place they are going to investigate that week. So imagine how excited I am to see this show live for 7 whole hours and to be able to participate online. I am sure many of you have not seen the show, so if you want to get a hint what you plan to see during the live show at 8p, tune into the Travel Channel at 6p and watch 2 taped shows beforehand.
