On Monday, Kathy Griffin revealed that she has lung cancer and was going under the knife that day to remove half of her lung.
As she was in the operating room, an interview she did with Nightline aired. In that interview, she revealed that was she has been addicted to prescription pills and attempted suicide a year ago.
Today, she gave an update on how she is doing after her operation. “To be honest, this cancer surgery was a little more than I had anticipated,” she wrote. “Tonight will be my first night without any narcotic pain killers. Hello Tylenol, my new best friend! The last time I was in a hospital was in June 2020 when I tried to take my life and overdosed on prescription pills. With over a year clean and drug free, I now know I can do this and anything I want without those devil pills. You know what? I fear drugs and addiction more than I fear cancer. So, I think I’ll be ok.”
Hopefully, in a few weeks, she will regain her strength so she can scream at the top of her one and a half lungs that she is cancer-free.
