Back in the ’90s, two of the biggest procedurals on television were Diagnosis Murder and Murder, She Wrote. Now that the two leads of those shows are in their 90’s,
Dick Van Dyke and Angela Lansbury are finally going to be working together. Not in Diagnosis Murder, She Wrote (which would be totally awesome, Hallmark), but the two 92-year-olds are starring in
Buttons. A movie musical that is coming out in November.
What is Buttons about? According to the site, “Set in a New England mill town in the early 1900s, this musical fairytale follows the story of Annabelle (Alivia Clark), a young child, who has been taught by her Mother and Father to believe in Angels and miracles. When tragedy strikes Annabelle’s happy life, she is left broken-hearted–until a mysterious Angel (Van Dyke) leads her story to a triumphant and inspiring ending.”
The movie also stars Jane Seymour, Ioan Gruffudd, Katie Mcgrath, Robert Picardo and Charles Shaughnessy, plus it features an original song from Paul McCartney. I do not know about you, but I will be there on day one to see this feature film. I bet you, it will be the feel-good movie of the holiday season.
BTW both actors will also be seen in Mary Poppins Returns that comes out on Christmas Day.
