Us Weekly has confirmed that Vince Vaughn, 36, has popped the question to his girlfriend of one year, Jennifer Aniston, 37. “They’re engaged!” a friend of the couple’s tells Us, adding, “Vince almost cries whenever he tells the story of the proposal.”On June 27, as the couple returned home on a private Gulfstream jet to L.A. after a romantic, nine-day vacation at Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis’ $25 million coastal retreat near Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, the actor nervously got down on bended knee. At that moment, he asked for Aniston’s hand in marriage – with, say sources, a substantial diamond ring.“He was going to propose on the beach during the trip, but he chickened out because he wasn’t sure if she would accept,” says the source. “But he knew he was leaving town [to film Into the Wild in South Dakota] for awhile, so he just felt he had to ask her before they landed.”

Publicly, Jennifer Aniston, 37, and Vince Vaughn, 36, have kept mum on their relationship. But during a recent weeklong Mexican getaway, the couple couldn’t keep quiet anymore: “We’re getting married,” Jen told a friend, a source says. The big news capped off an otherwise calm, romantic trip. The duo divvied up their week between Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis’ Puerto Vallarta property and Cabo San Lucas, where they holed up in a $5000-a-night, five-bedroom suite at the Villas Del Mar at Palmilla.
 
“They didn’t leave the resort too often,” says an employee. “She was a very quiet guest.” To celebrate their last night in Mexico June 2, they ordered in appetizers from local Mi Casa restaurant. “They seemed in love,” says a Cabo San Lucas hotel employee. 
 
Upon their return to the States, Vaugh jetted to Carthage, South Dakota, to film Into the Wild. Meanwhile, Aniston hung out with friends, meeting up with pals to down fresh peach Bellinis at West Hollywood’s Il Sole June 29. But the time apart won’t quell their love.
 
“They’re good for each other,” says a source. “He makes her laugh.”  Friend Courteney Cox agrees.  “They have fun, I’ll say that much,” she says in the August issue of Marie Claire. “They spend a lot of time laughing.”

Did the romance of Paris sweep Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston into a secret engagement while they were there together last month?

Well, if you believe Life & Style magazine, Vaughniston isn’t just engaged, they’re getting married "sooner rather than later," according to a story posted on the Internet Movie Database. 

But Aniston’s rep Stephen Huvane quickly quashed any speculation today to TMZ, saying that the rumors were not true. 

According to the Life & Style account, the down-on-one-knee engagement happened while the couple were in Paris promoting "The Break-Up." "Friends" quoted by the magazine claim that Aniston even invited her former mother-in-law, Jane Pitt, to the wedding, that Vaughn has gone on The Zone diet in preparation, and that Courteney Cox will be the matron of honor.

JENNIFER ANISTON and VINCE VAUGHN are planning a secret wedding after the actor proposed to the former FRIENDS star in Paris, France, according to US reports. Friends claim Aniston has invited her former mother-in-law, BRAD PITT’s mum JANE, to the nuptials and Vaughn is going to great lengths to shape-up for the big day. A Pitt family source tells American publication Life + Style that Aniston has told her former sister-in-law JULIE, who has also been invited to the wedding, that although a date has not been set, the actress would like it "sooner rather than later". Vaughn reportedly went down on one knee while the couple were in Europe promoting the film that brought them together, THE BREAK UP. And Life + Style reports that Vaughn is so serious about looking his best when he weds Aniston, he has started the Zone diet, which Aniston has been a long-time fan of. According to the publication, Aniston told a friend, "He’s started the Zone diet, and he’s working out. He looks great." Aniston is reportedly waiting for the fuss about her ex-husband’s new baby with ANGELINA JOLIE to die down before exchanging vows with her reported new fiance. But an insider insists Aniston is getting serious about her wedding plans: "Jen’s already asked COURTENEY COX to be her matron of honour."
