Crossing Jordan loses it’s return date
September 27th, 2006 under TV Reality. [ Comments: none ]

NBC has made its first scheduling change of the season — one that doesn’t involve a show currently on the air. The network announced Wednesday that it will roll out a new game show, "1 vs. 100," for a five-week run on Fridays starting Oct. 13. It will debut at 9 p.m. ET, following an episode of "Deal or No Deal," then move to 8 p.m. the following week and serve as a lead-in for the season premiere of "Las Vegas." As a result, veteran drama "Crossing Jordan" — which was scheduled to fill the 8 p.m. Friday spot starting the 20th — is being nudged aside for now. Its premiere date hasn’t been rescheduled yet. "This entertaining game is a proven winner from Europe that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats as the pressure builds with every question and the financial stakes grow higher," NBC Entertainment boss Kevin Reilly says. "The introduction of this new show also allows us the luxury of saving such a proven and versatile series as ‘Crossing Jordan’ for use later in the season." Comedian Bob Saget ("The Aristocrats," "Full House") will host "1 vs. 100," in which one player will face off in a trivia challenge against 100 competitors. The solo player has to answer every question correctly, while hoping members of the 100-person mob answer wrong and are eliminated. If the player eliminates everyone, he or she will take home $1 million. Should the single player miss a question, the remaining players among the 100 will split the pot.

I give 1 vs. 100 3 weeks top. I hate to say it, but I do not have a lot of faith in Bob Saget’s hosting style since he left his Full House image behind him.

Who Wants to be a Millionaire? redo
September 16th, 2006 under TV Reality. [ Comments: none ]

A Las Vegas man is getting a rare second chance — and a shot at $500,000 or more — on ABC’s game show "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire." Dante Constable, a musician who was initially listed as being from Davie, Fla., was bumped off the show in May when it was ruled that he gave a wrong answer. Had he given the right answer, he would have received $250,000. Instead, he went home with $25,000. But the show’s producers discovered that his answer was correct after all, and he not only returns to the show Tuesday but was credited with the $250,000.

Wonder if he blows it on the next question?

Who was voted off Celebrity Duets?
September 9th, 2006 under TV Reality. [ Comments: none ]

If you did not know Celebrity Duets was on yesterday or you are like me and your DVR stopped recording when they announced who was voted out. . .here is the unlucky celebrity who was voted out. . .

Even though I did not get why the judges loved Lea Thompson so much, I am surprised she went before that Olympic girl.

Who are you guys rooting for? I am biased towards my hometown boy Alfonso Ribiero, but to be honest I am really not in love with any of them.

Survivor casts actors?
August 23rd, 2006 under TV Reality. [ Comments: none ]

CBS has just unveiled the site for Survivor Cook Islands, following this morning’s announcement of the season’s big twist. And while the cast may be diverse ethnically, geographically, they are homogenous. Of the 20 players, 13 are from California, and nine of those are from Los Angeles. A few are listed by other cities to help disguise this fact, but Venice and Marina Del Rey are both basically part of Los Angeles.Even more incredibly, many of them are actors, two of whom have together had parts on all three CSIs. Sundra Oakley was on CSI Miami, while Jonathan Penner was on CSI New York and the original version. While Sundra is listed in her CBS bio as an actress, Jonathan is listed as a writer/producer, as he wrote and produced the TV movie version of The Lone Ranger. There’s also Sekou Bunch, who was in “Wild Orchid II: Two Shades of Blue,” and while his name is distinct enough to prove that’s probably him, there is a Billy Garcia who’s an actor, although it’s unclear if he’s the same person as the cast member, just as it’s unknown if Jessica Smith is one of the many people listed on IMDB. In addition, the Becky Lee who’s a director is probably not the attorney with the same name who’s on the show. But 25-year-old Oscar, who’s identified as a waiter living in Venice, is probably just an actor who’s yet to be cast.In any case, that’s quite a few actors; apparently, recruiting people for the show consisted of calling agents and walking into casting offices.

Reality Blurred

Sounds like this is going to be an interesting season. It will definitely be cooking.
