Camilla didn’t press charges in BB Aussie assualt.
July 2nd, 2006 under TV Reality. [ Comments: none ]

Complaints against Big Brother are now going right to the top with Prime Minister John Howard calling for the show the be axed immediately. Despite the incident not actually being broadcast on television, and it now becoming clear it was far less serious than first reported, Family First are still also rallying for the end of Big Brother. In Sunday’s daily show, Camilla explained she thought John and Ashley went too far, but stopped when she requested, and the group laughed it off. After talking with Police she did not press charges. The Police did not further their investigation. Family First are taking the illogical argument that incidents such as the one on the weekend damage their children, however the staff at behindbigbrother.com highly doubt their kids were watching the internet streams at 4.00am. The incident has never been shown on terrestrial television and never will be. No findings have come back from the Australian Communications and Media Authority yet.

I have been missing out on this treasure
June 27th, 2006 under TV Reality. [ Comments: none ]

Most reality shows rely mostly on brains and brawn, not intellect. But not NBC’s summer adventure reality series, "Treasure Hunters." This one is just as much about solving puzzles as it is running, jumping, or swimming.

There were nine teams remaining on the show heading into last night’s episode. One team is made up of ex-CIA agents. Another is made up of Air Force graduates. Then there is the team known as the Wild Hanlons.

The team is made up of brothers Ben and Pat (sporting the greatest mullet EVER) and Pat’s son, Ben. The team barely survived the first episode; only because someone gave them the answer to the last puzzle. On last night’s episode, the Wild Hanlons somehow managed to escape elimination again.

Left with one final message to decode, the team could not come up with the final answer. So, in the middle of the challenge, with two other teams trailing them, the Hanlons decided to drive 40 miles — to Burger King. Apparently they thought the answer was in a Whopper.Well if it wasn’t the Whopper, it must have been the onion rings. When then Hanlons returned from their fast food jaunt, suddenly the problem became more manageable and the team was able to solve their puzzle and avoid elimination.

Earlier in the episode, the Wild Hanlons spent 11 hours in a mine trying to figure out one of the clues — and overslept for another part of the challenge.

It should be noted they only finished ahead of two teams; one team had a player fall to injury (they had to carry her) and the other had their canoe capsize earlier in the mission.

Good luck next week boys!

Donald trumped by cooties
June 24th, 2006 under TV Reality. [ Comments: none ]

Property tycoon Donald Trump confesses he has borderline obsessive compulsive disorder and is terrified of germs. The star refuses to touch the ground floor button of a lift and avoids shaking hands with people – especially teachers.

He says, "I’m going to do everything in my power not to shake hands with teachers. They have 17,000 germs per square inch on their desk. That’s ten times the germ rate of those in other professions. It’s absolutely swarming with germs. In fact, from now on I’m just going to walk up to my office. It’s pretty high up there, but I could use the exercise."

Is Tuesday Night Book Club closed?
June 22nd, 2006 under TV Reality. [ Comments: none ]

CBS is benching its summer newcomer "Tuesday Night Book Club" for at least two weeks, scheduling updates released by the network confirmed this morning.

A repeat of "48 Hours Mystery" will fill the Tuesday, 10:00/9:00c hour on June 27 with the "Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular" airing on July 4.

It’s not clear if "Book Club" will return on July 11, the same night "Big Brother" and "Rock Star" launch their Tuesday editions this season.

A lackluster 5.07 million viewers tuned into "Club’s" premiere on June 13 while an estimated 4.13 million watched its second broadcast earlier this week. Both numbers fell short of its "The Unit" repeat lead-in (7.45 million on June 13 and 6.37 million on June 20).
