Get drunk off of the laughter with Sullivan & Son tonight!
June 13th, 2013 under TNT/TBS/TCM. [ Comments: none ]

Sullivan & Son is back on TBS tonight at 10p and you want to check out this bar where nobody knows your name, but they sure do know every joke about your race.
On tonight’s season premiere Steve’s (Steve Byrne) sister, Susan (Vivian Bang) asks him to teach her uptight doctor husband (Ken Jeong) to relax and that is a challenge he doesn’t want to accept. Eventually Steve gives in because he has no other choice. After one sip of beer and a piece of pizza, Jason (Jeong) is a changed man. That is something Steve and Susan’s Tiger Mother doesn’t approve of and she will do everything in her power to get her prodigal son-in-law back? Will she succeed or will she have two worthless sons in her life now?
But it isn’t only about them, Melanie (Valerie Azlynn) discovers that the men of the bar don’t know anything about sports. So she decides to teach them a thing or two about the games they pretend they know so much about. As payback they will teach her something that every woman knows, but her.
I have seen three episodes of this season so far, the two TBS sent out and a taping on Tuesday with The Big Bang Theory’s Kunal Nayyar; and I have to say that this show is even funnier and wronger this season.
Steve is still adjusting to life at the bar and being a single ex-lawyer. His dad (Dan Luria) is still a beaten down man, but makes us crack up with his expressions. His mom (Jodi Long) is one tough cookie, that you don’t want to f*ck with. Carol (Christine Ebersole) is still very much a slut and will do any man that comes into the bar. Hank (Brian Doyle-Murray) is still the racist with a heart that steals every scene he is in. Owen (Owen Benjamin) is as naive as ever and that is why you love him as much as his mom, Carol. Well not as much as her because those two have a really weird relationship. Ahmed (Ahmed Ahmed), Roy Wood (Roy Wood Jr.) and Melanie are full of one liners, and they are the type of people you totally want to hang at a dive bar and have a beer with. So why not grab a stool and join them tonight and every Thursday at 10p.
Sullivan & Son is not your warm and fuzzy family sitcom and it is not a smart one that only the elitists like; it is a sitcom with real people at a real place in real situations telling real jokes and because of that it is a real funny show!

It would be a Major Crimes if you didn’t watch King & Maxwell!
June 10th, 2013 under TNT/TBS/TCM. [ Comments: none ]

Major Crimes is back on TNT’s case at 9p and it is going to be a good season. The first case deals with the death of Hollywood producer’s wife and he is the leading suspect. Doesn’t help that his first show was a reality one about looking into criminal cases. So did he learn something from that show or is someone setting him up?
But tonight’s episode isn’t only about solving that crime, Rusty Beck is being prepped for his testimony and the new case worker doesn’t think he should be living with Capt. Sharon Raydor. Will he be taken away from her? You will have to tune in to find out.
Then at 10p King & Maxwell debuts and you are going to love this fast-paced, fun private eye buddy show! Sean King (Jon Tenney) and Michelle Maxwell (Rebecca Romijn) are two ex-Secret Service agents who are now working as private eyes. Both of them were let go for two very different reasons and it explains why they are the way they are. They get things done in their own special style and that will get them in trouble the people who do things by the book.
Maxwell & King is unlike other procedurals because it is so fast paced and you never know what is going to happen next. Plus their chemistry is what makes the show. As of now their characters are not sexually involved, but I totally want them to hook up because that is how great they play off of each other.
So tune in for a procedural that is original and enjoyable tonight and every Monday at 10p on TNT!

TNT knows adventure with The Hero and 72 Hours!
June 6th, 2013 under TNT/TBS/TCM. [ Comments: none ]

At 8p The Hero debuts on TNT and you don’t want to miss the show. Nine people compete to be The Hero and to win $1,000,000. If you are going to win that amount of money than Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is going to make you work for it. Tonight some of the contestants will dangle from the roof one of the tallest buildings in Panama with just a rope and they will have to swing towards each other until they are holding hands. If that doesn’t make you poop in your pants, then I don’t know what will. And that is just one of the many grueling challenges they will face. But there is more than the physical challenges there are the mental ones too. The jackpot starts at 0 and every time they win, that money will go in to the pot. But the contestants can decide to keep that money for themselves lowering the final value. Would a true hero take that temptation or would he or she share the money? You will have to tune in to find out.
Then at 9p we travel to 72 Hours. Each week 3 teams of 3 strangers will be dropped down into a remote area for three days all to find a suitcase full of $100,000. The 9 people will only be given single bottle of water and a GPS tracking device as their guide and they will have to do the rest. They will trek through some of the toughest terrain and if they are the first team to find the winning suitcase, then they are $100,000 richer and a whole lot stronger. 72 Hours is a beautifully shot show that a mix of Survivor and Amazing Race. Why go outside on a hot summer night when you can just watch this show instead.

The Last Ship looks first rate!
May 7th, 2013 under TNT/TBS/TCM. [ Comments: none ]

So when I started watching the trailer for TNT’s upcoming show The Last Ship, I thought the Michael Bay drama looked just like the failed Last Resort. But then as it went on, I was blown away by how good the show based on a book with Eric Dane looks. Granted I love anything that is about virus outbreaks, so the show had me from that moment on. I just hate that we have to wait until 2014 to see the first 10 episodes of the series. My prediction is that TNT will pair this show with Dallas as they try to build up their winter slate.
