OMG! The Tudors just ended it's first season this past Sunday and I can't wait for the second season already. If those pictures are as hot as the second season is shaping up to be, I can't believe we have to wait to find what happens to Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn and Katherine until 2008.
All that we know about the second season is that Peter O'Toole is joining the cast as Pope Paul III and this preview from Showtime "Season Two begins, Henry’s desires are thwarted by the Church, an obstacle that makes him even more determined to separate Parliament from Church. After Henry secretly marries Anne and has his marriage to Katherine (Maria Doyle Kennedy) declared invalid, Pope Paul III (O’Toole) moves to excommunicate Henry and the two have an on-going feud with a fall-out that has repercussions in England to this day."
I have to admit I did not know much about Henry VIII before the show except that he like to behead his wives, but after watching The Tudors I can't wait learn more who he ran the country. There was so much more to the man than just chopping his wives heads when he wanted a new one!
Here is Season 2 of The Tudors coming to Showtime in 2008!

Watch The Tudors on Showtime every Sunday at 10p
April 1st, 2007 under The Tudors. [ Comments: none ]

The Tudors premieres on Showtime tonight at 10p and all I can say is the show is amazing. The Tudors is one of the most beautifully shot series I have ever seen. Could be because it is shot in Ireland or it could be the cast or the costumes? Although the visual is what got me to watch, that is not what has kept me watching.
I have to admit I am not into English history and can barely remember what I learned in school. But this show makes me want to know more. I swear I am holding back from going to Wikipedia after each episode to see how this story ends.
The Tudors is the story of a young King Henry VIII and each episode is a year in his life. It shows how he was King, the loves of his life including Anne Boleyn and his children and the conspiracies against him.
Jonathan Rhys Meyers is superb in the show and will probably get an Emmy nom for his acting. Sam Neill plays Cardinal Wolsey and for your Degrassi fans, Kristen Holden Reid is in it and for you Dead Like Me fans, Callum Blue.
BTW I forgot to mention the sex scenes are way sexy!!!
Whether you a history buff or not, The Tudors is a show to watch!!!

Lots to watch on Showtime!!!
March 23rd, 2007 under The Tudors. [ Comments: none ]

The American Life premiered last night on Showtime and if you are like me and you missed out on this compelling show about real life then you can watch it TAL’s site. TAL airs on Showtime on Thursday nights at 10:30p

This Sunday at 10p is the season finale of The L Word and what a season it has been. And if this season finale is anything like last year’s you do not want to miss out on the cliffhangers.

Next Sunday at 10p The Tudors premieres on Showtime and I can’t wait for this show. The Tudors stars Johnathan Rhys Meyers as a young King Henry VIII. The show will be focusing how this man became the King that we studied in History, his first marriage to his brother’s widow and how he fell in love with Anne Boleyn. This show sounds so interesting and the cinematography looks so beautiful.
Showtime has kindly put the first two episodes online, so check them out at The Tudor’s page.

Showtime airing full episodes online for a week!
October 3rd, 2006 under The Tudors. [ Comments: none ]

Showtime is once again turning to the Web to promote several of its premium shows, and ultimately to draw new subscribers. The premium cable net has partnered with Yahoo to stream select full-length episodes from several of its top series from Oct. 6 to Oct. 13, including Weeds, Sleeper Cell, Brotherhood and The L Word, as well as several new series. Previously, Showtime streamed the first episode of Weed’s second season on MSN this past summer, as well as the now defunct Kirstie Alley series Fat Actress on Yahoo in 2005. Among the new Showtime series to be featured on Yahoo during the special promotional period is the recentlly-premiered Dexter, which follows a forensics pathologist who tracks down and murders his victims’ killers. In addition, Yahoo will offer fans a first look at yet-to-debut The Tudors, which examines the reign of England King Henry VIII, months before the show premieres in 2007.

I have been wanting to see Sleeper Cell, so I am glad I finally will.
