Mary-Louise Parker’s painful sex scene
June 16th, 2008 under Showtime. [ Comments: 2 ]

Mary-Louise Parker broke her toe while filming a sex scene for Weeds according to People.

"I smashed it on the bed frame," she told PEOPLE at the after party, where she remained seated in her Alberta Ferretti gown. "Good for me, right?"

Alas, it was no real-life romp. The actress injured herself while shooting a scene from Weeds. "How's that for commitment?" she mused. "Fantastic!"

And yes, her director used the, um, footage. "They kind of had to," explained Parker. "It was the first take!"

Major ouch. I wonder if she will be on top for all future sex scenes?
BTW that is something you would expect to happen on Californication, not Weeds. The sex scenes on Californication are well more acrobatic to put it mildly.

Showtime’s This American Life is back for a second season tonight
May 4th, 2008 under Showtime. [ Comments: none ]

Compelling stories are explored every day on “This American Life,” the nearly 15-year-old, award-winning Chicago Public Radio show that boasts a devoted weekly listening audience of 1.7 million, and is heard on more than 500 stations nationally. The series, created in 1995 by host and executive producer Ira Glass, pioneered a unique way of telling stories on the radio. Its first-person telling of these revealing stories makes the radio series a great fit for television.
In the same spirit of the radio show, the televised version of THIS AMERICAN LIFE, premiering Thursday, March 22nd at 10:30 p.m. PT/ET, takes 30-minute looks at stories culled from all over the country. Glass and a small team of radio producers and filmmakers spent six months on the road: traveling to Iowa pig farms, following a first-time filmmaker in California, photographing a raucous night at an Illinois hot dog stand. The result is true stories that are dramatic, emotional, and often funny.

Ira Glass’ This American Life is back tonight for its second season on Showtime tonight at 10p. Tonight’s episode deals with a 26 year old man who cannot survive on his own, but wants independence from his mom. He can only communicate via a computer, so when they ask him who he wants to his boy his voice he says either Johnny Depp or Edward Norton. Somehow they get Johnny Depp to read his e-mails which is more proof Johnny Depp is an amazing man.
Tune into This American Life to see real stories about real Americans on Showtime at 10p.

Showtime let’s us in the Secret Diary of a Call Girl in June
March 26th, 2008 under Showtime. [ Comments: 1 ]

Taken from best-selling, real-life diaries, SECRET DIARY OF A CALL GIRL is an eye-opening look into the world of a high-end call girl leading a double life. To her friends and family she is Hannah, a legal secretary clocking in regular hours and enjoying a “normal” life. To her clients, she is Belle, the answer to every man’s fantasies. Her challenge is to keep her two lives separate. Inevitably they begin to blur. Each half-hour episode is an illuminating glimpse behind the scenes of the high-class sex trade. The heroine struggles with personal and moral issues — with some rather naughty adventures along the way.

That show looks so sexy, wow. I can’t wait for that show to premiere on Monday June 16th. Wonder if either Eliot Spitzer or Ashley Alexandra Dupre are going to have a guest star appearance on the show or at least watch it?
BTW on a Showtime note, before Secret Diary comes to TV in June check out Sunday’s season premiere episode of The Tudors above and make sure to watch both The Tudors and Tracey Ullman’s State Of The Union when premiere this Sunday starting at 9p.

Who knew cheese could be used for art?
March 10th, 2008 under Showtime. [ Comments: none ]

Looks like we will learn things like this on Tracey Ullman’s State of the Union when it premieres on Showtime on March 30th at 10p.
But seriously how cool is that he was able to sculpt the Statue of Liberty out of cheese in 4 days.
