Earlier this week Tim Daly took to Twitter to say he would not be returning for Private Practice’s sixth season and it looks like another cast member will be leaving the show too. Deadline is reporting that Kate Walsh’s contract is up with episode 13 of this season and she doesn’t plan on staying with the show. Without her they should kill the show. Actually I really hope that ABC puts this show out of misery. Seriously isn’t the most depressing show on television?
When it comes to Walsh, it is time for her to hang up Addison’s coat and move on to bigger and better things.
Private Practice is rumored have a 13 and out season and not everyone will be back to say goodbye. Tim Daly Tweeted this said news, “Wonderful fans of PPP. Shonda informed my agent today that Pete wont be returning for season 6. It was a great 5 yrs. R.I.P. Pete Wilder.” Pete/Tim was the only reason why I watched the show. That was before they turned him into a complete wimp begging for Violet to take him back. Finally he grew a pair of balls in the season finale and helped a man grant his partner his dying wish to die and found himself being arrested for it. Now we know his fate and I am not happy about it. I think it was the push I needed to give up this depressing show. Maybe I will be less depressed about things if I don’t watch this show that gives its characters the saddest scenarios you couldn’t even imagine in your worst nightmares.
BTW wasn’t it nice of Shonda Rhimes to tell his agent the news and not the man who worked his a$$ off for her for 5 years, I say sarcastically.
Yesterday was the season finale of Grey’s Anatomy and several of the doctors from Seattle Grace found themselves in an unknown location after the plane they were on crashed. Instead of the season ending with them being rescued, it left off with them being trapped in a mysterious place fighting for their lives. Throw in some black smoke and a polar bear and it would appear a lot like another ABC show, you know Lost. So I have wonder if that is the angle the show is going to take next season. Can the doctors and a pilot survive by themselves on (please let it be) and island while a new set of doctors replace them at Seattle Grace? I mean it wouldn’t be the first time I have seen storylines on Grey’s that I saw on other ABC shows shortly beforehand. I remember seeing plotlines from Eli Stone and Boston Legal on the medical drama.
Now that is my theory about what will happen next for the ABC show, but one of the other ones I read this morning explained why they might’ve left the season off where they did. Since several of the actors had not resigned by the time they taped the episode, it was an easy way to kill off those who would not be coming back. Since it has been announced that all of the originals are coming back, we have reason to be pissed off with that season finale that was a lot like the pilot for Lost.
And when it comes to the cast member we lost, it makes sense they got rid of her because they weren’t utilizing her like they should’ve.
Before Kevin McKidd was a doctor on Grey’s Anatomy, he needed medical care on Kavanagh QC. What a head of hair the 22 year old had in that 1995 episode.
Private Practice’s ratings are down big time and ABC is deciding whether or not to bring the show back for another season. Well Deadline is reporting that the network is contemplating a 13 and out 6th season to wrap things up. Just like Fox granted Fringe, The CW allowed One Tree Hill and NBC gave Chuck, but unlike those shows it doesn’t have the loyal audience they have/had. What Private Practice has is it is created by ABC’s golden child Shonda Rimes, who created Grey’s Anatomy and also has Scandal on the air which took over PP’s slot a few weeks ago, and they want to keep her happy.
I admit I watch Grey’s and PP, and sometimes I wonder why ever character on those shows hasn’t committed suicide. Seriously can she make their lives even more depressing. I mean how much sorrow can one person go through and it isn’t even their cases that is causing their misery. Like Derek’s sister losing her boyfriend to an OD when they were on a drug binge. But then she gets some good news that she is pregnant with his child, only to find out the baby doesn’t have a brain and she has to carry it to term. Seriously, Seriously? And don’t get me started on the storyline where Violet had her baby cut out of her by a psycho. Their lives are so depressing it almost makes Precious look like an upbeat movie.
