Seth Meyers hit the 100 mark of hosting NBC’s Late Night and yesterday he showed us what two words he has said the most since he took over the job. That phrase is, “That’s great!” His writers and editors put together a mashup of all the times he said it so far, and tell me if you think that’s great. I know I think that’s great. That’s great, right?

Seth Meyers gave an Emmy worthy monologue at the Emmys! |
August 26th, 2014 under Emmys, Seth Meyers. [ Comments: none ]

Seth Meyers opened the Emmy telecast with the best monologue I’ve seen in ages for the Awards show. I found it so weird that he seemed more comfortable on the huge stage performing in front of hundreds of people, then he does on his late night show. If he did that type of monologue on Late Night, I think I might check it out more often. Wouldn’t you?
When it comes to the rest of his hosting, there was some hits and misses. The audience interaction with Jon Hamm and Melissa McCarthy didn’t work and the Bill Eichner bit was funny but not needed. I liked the Weird Al Yankovic surprise, but it needed to be tightened up and include a few more shows.
Now when it comes to the winners, do the Emmy voters even watch the nominees especially the comedies. I don’t feel that Allison Janney and Julia Louis Dreyfus won for their current work, I think they won for their work from the ‘90s. I’m not saying they are bad actress, just saying the current roles are Emmy worthy. Plus, did Jim Parsons and Modern Family really deserve their wins after subpar seasons? We need to come up with a new way for the voters to vote and there needs to be limit on how many wins someone can have in one category for one show. Let somebody else bring home the Emmy. Am I right?
Another thing NATAS shouldn’t do again is have the Emmys so early. It hurt promoting the new shows. Except for Oscar winner Octavia Spencer and Emmy winner Katherine Heigl, none of the new shows were represented. In fact, I don’t remember any commercials for any of NBC’s new shows like A to Z, Constantine and State of Affairs. I thought that was the big part of the Emmys to promote the new season as we close out the old one.
When it comes to the presenters, why weren’t there any representatives from The CW and USA? Matt Bomer doesn’t count because he was there for HBO. I would like to have seen this season’s break out stars Jane the Virgin’s Gina Rodriguez, Scorpion’s Elyse Gabel, Constantine’s Matt Ryan, Manhattan Love Story’s Analeigh Tipton and/or Gotham’s Oswald Cobblepot up there along with Oscar winners Julia Roberts, who made it about herself, and Halle Berry.
And this goes for all awards shows, stop cutting off the winners when you have presenters like Jimmy Kimmel (who was funny) and Julia Roberts go long. Longer than that kiss that Bryan Cranston gave Julia Louis-Dreyfus. That was a nice moment.
Just wish there were more like them. What did you think of yesterday’s Emmys?

Chris Pratt got in trouble for showing his penis on the Parks & Rec’s set |

Chris Pratt was on Late Night yesterday and Seth Meyers asked him about the time he got in big trouble at NBC. According to Pratt during the second season of Parks & Recreation, he was shooting a scene where Leslie opens the door at Ann’s house and shockingly sees a nude Andy. Since it’s TV, he was wearing a nude pair of underwear instead of his birthday suit. After several takes, Amy Poehler wasn’t reacting shocked enough. So he took off the nude undies and went, well, nude. Her reaction to it and it, is what was used in the episode.
Now even though he garnered the response that made it to air, he says NBC was not happy with him and sent him a letter that said he can’t do that again. Not only can he never do that again, but he can’t make a joke about it.
I’m sorry, but that is funny! And it’s not like we were going to see it anyways, so what’s the big deal. Unless, he has a big deal?
BTW I wonder who ratted him out to NBC? Not cool, dude or dudette.

Divorce has turned Taye Diggs into an emotional woman! |
July 10th, 2014 under RENT, Seth Meyers. [ Comments: none ]

Taye Diggs is recently divorced and he told Seth Meyers on Late Night yesterday that it has made him an emotional wreck. The actor explained to the NBC host that he acts like a woman suffering from PMS when the littlest things happen to him, like stubbing his toe. And you know what, even though the Murder in the First star might come off a little less masculine after sharing that information, he is still all man to me. The fact that he admitted that shows just how manly he truly is.
Now when it comes to Handsome, not Handsome Vine; let’s be real he’s always handsome. Although I have one request for him, don’t make those videos when you are driving right by my place on the highway I frequent.

Believe it or not, Ben Affleck has a bigger head than Jon Hamm! |
May 9th, 2014 under Ben Affleck, Jon Hamm, Seth Meyers. [ Comments: none ]

Jon Hamm was on Late Night yesterday and Seth Meyers reminisced about their time together on Saturday Night Live. Then the Mad Man then told him that he has a really big head and when he was on SNL, he asked the hair and makeup people if he has the biggest one that they ever had on the show that’s been on for like ever. To his surprise he found out there was someone who had a bigger head than he does. That man is his The Town co-star Ben Affleck. I wonder of if Affleck’s other head is also bigger than Hamm’s??? C’mon you were thinking the same thing and you know it.
