Dave Navarro on last night’s and future eliminations |

Well, for once I was half right. Jill AND Josh… On their way home! That only means one less week until the finale! For me, it’s hard to imagine some of these obviously talented singers being in THIS band. I think that all of them absolutely have talent, but some of those talents could be better served somewhere else. Like at a Starbucks. (J/K) Seriously, Supernova needs that undeniable rock front person and I do believe that a woman could definitely do the job. Also, I try to keep in mind that last year, everyone was on about Jordis and Mig and the game quickly shifted mid season. As I see it, Magni, Dilana, Lukas, Storm and Toby all have a shot. My money is on the next few weeks to look like this elimination wise: Patrice, Zayra & Ryan (even though I personally loved the whole new Ryan vibe last night). The truth is, that out of all the elimination days, I have only been right 1/2 (when Jill and Josh were sent home) a day out of all of them, so what the hell do I know? I’m just there to run the couch, chime in with an outsider’s perspective and move it along. I never saw the Josh thing coming today.

I agree with almost everything he said, but bad song choices can change everything.

Dave Navarro blogs about Jill and Zayra |

Another early morning here in LA. I am just about to go over to CBS and watch Supernova throw down the hatchet again. My prediction? (which so far, has always been totally wrong every time…) I am going to have to go with Jill, even though her performance last night was one of her best. She has just been consistently wrong for the band in my opinion. As you know, I have no vote in the matter so I am always just as on the edge of my seat as the audience when they deliver the final word. Zayra? Well, I have been saying that she needs to go for weeks now, but every time I think it is going to be her, I am shocked by a different decision from the band. Either way, she is definitely more entertaining than Jill, even if it is for all the wrong reasons. Jill is clearly a better singer but Zayra is for sure more fun to watch. Oh yeah, sure, a lot of people out there are upset about it because they think she is around only because of her sexy outfits, but I’m telling you, she would be just as interesting to watch if she came out wearing a gunny sack. I have said it before and I stand by it… If Zayra got going on a solo career and did a really tripped out artsy record a la Peaches or Bjork, she could have something. Jill, on the other hand, does have a great voice and could more than likely excel doing something else too… Commercial work, her own project, whatever. The fact remains that whoever wins this thing has to front Tommy, Jason and Gilby. I only see a few possibilities for that role. As for the show last night and the option to do The Who song with Gilby, I was absolutely shocked that more singers didn’t try to jump on that. A little insider info: Dilana claims she had never even heard that song before. I actually find that hard to believe, but if it is in fact true, it just goes to show you just how committed she is to take such a risk. Lukas? Well, he just destroyed it last night. I am glad to see him back on top with an entirely new side of his voice coming to the forefront. OK. If I don’t get the hell outta here, I am gonna be late. Peace and love to all of you…

I agree with him about Jill and Zayra, but I don’t get Dilana. I think last night was the strongest Rock Star Supernova show this season, but I still got bored during most of the performances. I think Magni deserves the encore spot, but it will go to Lukas!
BTW I started thinking this morning how cool it would be if they did a double elimination tonight.

As I’m sure you know by now, Storm has been sequestered in the mansion ever since this whole Rockstar thing started. No TV, no Internet, no newspaper and no phones…except for one 15 minute (monitored) call per week. She has only a vague idea of how much we’ve all been cheering her on.
We want to change that, and we need your help.
We’re going to get everybody we can together tonight (Aug for a big group photo out in front of Dante’s. I’ve lined up a great photographer to take the shot. All we need is you! Get on down to Dante’s by 7:00, and you will be in the picture.
Naturally, the party will continue inside Dante’s after we take the photo. First, we’ll see the latest reality episode on the big screen. Then at 9:00 sharp, it’ll be time to cheer Storm on as she once again proves that she is Queen. The rocking continues at 10 with Eric McFadden and Pat Macdonald.
If you live outside the Portland area, you can still show your support by watching Rockstar: Supernova on CBS (9pm, 8 central) and then voting for Storm at the end of the show.
Rock on… Rev. (Webdaddy) Steve
Storm’s MySpace
I think this is so cool and hope they get bunch people for the picture.

Rock Star Supernova Dilana unruly? |

From landyloo: Dish on Rockstar?
This year is pretty great. It is. I’ve heard the band is really taken with Dilana (the hard-core, pierced woman who’s extremely talented). In fact, she’s their favorite right now to win. However, there’s one issue: I’ve heard she can be a bit, er, unruly around the house. I won’t get into details, but let’s just say that it could affect her chances of winning if it doesn’t ease up.
Watch with Kristin
I want to know what she is doing in the house?

Zayra Alvarez critiqued |

It’s not every day you see a speechless rock star. But that’s exactly what happened during last week’s performance episode of Rock Star: Supernova (9 p.m. Tuesdays, 8 p.m. Wednesdays on CBS). What on earth could possibly render Lee incapable of speech?I’ve got two words for you: Zayra Alvarez. To be specific, it was her torturous rendition of Tommy Tutone’s "867-5309/Jenny" that caused Lee, co-host Dave Navarro and fellow Supernova members Jason Newsted and Gilby Clarke to search in vain for words. The guys needed a commercial break to put their thoughts into some semblance of order.Let’s be honest, though: Alvarez’s atrocious display was really nothing new. She’s an awful singer, and her performances are (unintentionally?) laughable. She’s been that way since the very first episode, when she butchered Evanescence’s "Bring Me to Life," and a couple weeks ago, when she warbled Blondie’s "Call Me."Hey, you gotta hand it to her — the girl’s consistent. Yet she somehow manages to escape elimination week after week (good grief, she wasn’t even in the bottom three this time!). Why is that? Comedic relief?Rather than critiquing her dubious singing talents, Navarro last week chose to praise Alvarez."The reality is that you change it up every week," he said. "And my money’s on that."Clarke added that they want to keep her around because they’re curious to see what she’s going to do next, and they’re still undecided about whether she’s the right person to front their band.Is he kidding? Why keep someone around when the most flattering thing you can say to them is "you look amazing"? And that’s when she’s decked out in a metallic blue jumpsuit or a cape.I nearly choked a couple weeks back when Navarro told Alvarez, "My recommendation for you is to get started on a solo career right now."Was that his polite way of saying it’ll be a cold day in hell before she is Supernova’s singer? It kind of makes you wonder whether Alvarez is creator Mark Burnett’s way of turning the series into a rock-star version of The Apprentice. After all, her presence creates drama (why wasn’t she eliminated instead of so-and-so?) and provides the audience someone to dislike. But if that’s not the case, and Supernova is really serious about considering Alvarez as their singer, then there’s just one question left to ask: What are these guys thinking?

Major ouch! They are right, but major ouch!
