Don’t forget the season finale of Project Runway is on tonight!
October 18th, 2006 under Project Runway. [ Comments: none ]

The "Project Runway" judges have already crowned the newest member of the fashion tribe. Michael Knight, Uli Herzner, Jeffrey Sebelia or Laura Bennett will get $100,000, a spread in Elle magazine, a new car and the myriad media opportunities that materialize for the winner of the most hotly contested reality show since the heyday of "Survivor." Viewers will find out who won tonight (10 p.m. on Bravo). The episode was taped last month after the designers sent 12 looks down the runway at Bryant Park for judges Michael Kors, Nina Garcia, Heidi Klum and guest judge Fern Mallis, who as the woman in charge of organizing New York’s Fashion Week has sat through more runway shows than ubiquitous Fashion Week chair-filler Mischa Barton. But unlike season one, where there was a clear winner in the cherubic Jay McCarroll, this year is a tougher call. In last week’s episode, it was revealed that Sebelia was the focus of an investigation after Bennett told Gunn (in a clandestine nighttime meeting on the street) that, in her opinion, Sebelia had help sewing his collection, which is a violation of the show’s rules. Sebelia denies the charges. And the matter has been resolved. But it came down to the wire, with Sebelia not finding out whether he would be disqualified a mere hours before the Bryant Park show. "It was not something I did lightly," says Bennett, regarding her decision to tattle on Sebelia. But if cheaters never win, no one likes a rat. "I was upset! Why would Laura do that to Jeffrey," wrote a fan on the AOL message board. "Suddenly," says Bennett, "it’s, ‘Poor Jeffrey, the recovering heroin addict.’ And, ‘How can that b- accuse him?’ It’s like America loves the underdog." "I knew when I opened my mouth, I was causing trouble," she adds. But she had no idea the degree to which the show’s fans would turn on her. "They love [Jeffrey] and I have become this jealous, conniving, accusing … I have to say I was a bit surprised." Of course, Sebelia did show his collection at Bryant Park, which doesn’t necessarily mean he hasn’t been disqualified. But he was extremely relieved backstage after the shows. "It was perfect," he said. "I can’t believe it went off flawlessly. It feels amazing that it’s over." And he had kind words for all of his fellow contestants, none of which sounds like the words of a man who hours earlier was disqualified. Bennett still thinks Sebelia cheated. Herzner disagrees. And although the German émigré had kind words for Bennett’s collection, she isn’t so sure about her motivation. "I didn’t really understand why she went that far," says Herzner. "Even if she thinks it, she can confront him." The cheating, the lying, the backstabbing – it’s almost blasé in the mercenary world of high fashion. Certainly no one in the industry is the tiniest bit surprised by less-than-honorable behavior. This season of "Project Runway" has been the series’ most popular. The throngs of fans hoping to somehow wrangle their way into the tents to see it all first hand is a testament to selling power of a good scandal. "They get crazy," said a weary head-set wearing, clip-board carrying Fashion Week publicist. "Project Runway" fans, she said, will do anything to get into the tent. "They beg, cry, plead, bribe," she said. "They are obsessed." Herzner exhibited the most consistently polished collection and was the only designer not to send at least one "what were they thinking" outfit skulking down the runway. Knight showed a truly awful silk print halter dress that managed to make the model wearing it look fat. And Bennett’s fondness for feathers (they were on shoulders of dresses and hems of skirts) looked perfect for the staff at Lucky Cheng’s.

I said it before and I will say it again, Laura is a b!tch! And from the way she is defending herself in this article, sounds like she lost. And yes I am rooting for Jeffrey, I will admit it!

Project Runway’s Laura Bennett is a jealous b!tch.
September 26th, 2006 under Project Runway. [ Comments: none ]

FOR the second time this season, a contestant on "Project Runway" may be ejected from the show after possibly running afoul of the show’s rules. Jeffrey Sebelia, 36, of Los Angeles – the contestant best known for having an elaborate tattoo across his throat – has been accused of violating rules that prohibit contestants from receiving outside help for basic sewing, according to a published report. The report said Sebelia was accused of violating the rule by a fellow contestant, Laura Bennett, 43, of New York. "We took the accusations very seriously, and we did a very thorough investigation," said "Runway’s" Tim Gunn in the story. A spokeswoman for the show would not reveal the results of the investigation. She advised watching this week’s episode to find out. Last month, another contestant, Keith Michael of Brooklyn, was booted from the show for violating the rules.

Obviously she did not win if she is making these accusations. But seriously what a b!tch to say this, why can’t she face the fact that unlike Jeffrey’s designs all of her designs lacked any form of originality. It was the same thing week after week and her Fashion Week stuff put me to sleep. She just needs to focus on being a mom and not on being a fashion designer.

Project Runway moving to NBC?
September 16th, 2006 under NBC, Project Runway. [ Comments: none ]

THE TV-industry-heavy "Project Runway" audience was buzzing about L.A.-based NBC CEO Jeff Zucker’s first-time-in-three-seasons appearance, front row center, next to Bravo President Lauren Zalaznick at the reality show’s runway finale yesterday morning. "Since ‘The Apprentice’ isn’t coming back to NBC in January, I wouldn’t be surprised if the network picks up ‘Project Runway’ and ‘The Apprentice’ goes to Bravo," says one industry insider. "As soon as Zucker sees the star wattage here, he’ll be sold."

I hope this rumor is false because it will lose the feel it has now.

August 16th, 2006 under Project Runway. [ Comments: none ]

TURNS out there may have been some sex on the set of "Project Runway" after all.In an interview posted yesterday on the Bravo Web site, network program exec Andy Cohen revealed that "Runway" runner-up Santino and a fellow male contestant may have – how to say it? – hooked up.In the Q&A – conducted by actor Ralph Fiennes, a big fan of the show – Cohen says that he’s asked all the time about contestants engaging in sexual hanky panky."This is the stuff that people really want to know, and you have the guts to ask it," he told the actor."There was a rumor last season that something happened in Nick, Andre, Santino and Daniel’s apartment," Cohen says. "I thought that it was between Santino and Andre – but I can’t be sure."I don’t know of any girls and boys hooking up," Cohen added. "Most of our boys are gay, gay, gay."

I wish they showed that! I miss last year’s contestants.

Project Runway 3 shocker: Laura is a b!tch
August 9th, 2006 under Project Runway. [ Comments: none ]

From kilxover: Any Project Runway news? Like, why that damned girl is still in?!
Our very own Party Girl, and my best friend Lara Morgenson, met up with Robert this week, and has been talking my ear off ever since about how awesome the guy is. She loves him. He gave her a little bit of scoop, saying that we’re about to see the normally quiet Michael really come into his own as a designer in the upcoming episodes. He also said that much of the cast couldn’t stand "bad mommy" Laura, who was really kind of a bitch, talking crap about her kids and the other contestants–something the producers decided not to show!

Watch with Kristin

I was being sarcastic, she so comes off as one of those Manhattan b!tches. That is why I could not believe she had 5 kids. Women like her only have them to please their husbands and stop at 2.
