Kate Moss is reported to be trying for a baby with wayward lover Pete Doherty. The 32-year-old apparently believes having a child with her will help the Babyshambles star get off drugs. According to the Sunday Mirror, she told a pal: "I love him and know that, for all his faults, I will spend the rest of my life with him. "I also want my little girl Lila to have a brother or a sister. "But Pete has to stay off the drugs. And the only way for that to happen is if he’s with me all the time." Doherty, 27, already has a son with fellow singer Lisa Moorish, 33. Kate’s daughter Lila turned four last month. Babyshambles cancelled the last five dates of their British tour after Doherty failed to turn up for a concert in Liverpool on Friday. The official explanation was "artist’s exhaustion". But Moss is thought to have given him a "band or me" ultimatum after discovering he was back on crack cocaine.

Babyshambles have pulled the remaining dates of their current UK tour. As previously reported, the band cancelled their show in Liverpool last night (October 6) and have now decided to abandon the remaining gigs. A spokesperson for the band’s new label Regal explained the dates are off to allow Pete Doherty to continue his "excellent" progress in drug rehab. "The band apologises to fans but hopes that they will understand the importance of Peter being able to best continue his good progress in recovering from addiction," the label explained. "The dates will be rearranged for as soon as possible and all tickets will remain valid."

Babyshambles have cancelled their appearance in Liverpool tonight (October 6). The band were due to play the Liverpool Academy as part of the Frog tour, but will miss the show after frontman Pete Doherty cited exhaustion.

Pete Doherty fled the home of his girlfriend Kate Moss in the early hours of the morning after an almighty bust-up. The Babyshambles lunatic ran out of the supermodel’s St Johns Wood mansion at 3.26am – slamming the door behind him – following what is understood to have been a huge row. The row now creates doubt over whether the car-crash couple will actually tie the knot. Heroine addict Pete, 27, accompanied 32-year-old Kate to her £3million home after Babyshambles’ performance at Brixton Academy. She had briefly joined Pete on stage to sing with him on La Belle Et La Bete, the song he wrote for her which translates to Beauty And The Beast. Although Kate arrived looking effortlessly gorgeous, it was a different picture when she emerged, with her hair all over the place, fumbling for grip in her waiting car. The evening evidently got worse when Kate and Pete began arguing in the early hours of the morning. Doherty lost his temper during the barney and reportedly smashed up his beloved Guild acoustic guitar. And, judging by our picture, his temper wasn’t the only thing he lost, emerging from Kate’s home half-dressed and wearing no shoes. Our spy outside Kate’s house said: "Pete burst out of the door looking pretty angry and was going on about how he had smashed his guitar. He was looking everywhere for a taxi to get home but he couldn’t find one, this made him even more angry." He also abused awaiting paparazzi and allegedly smashed a camera before disappearing into the night.

Pete Doherty has apparently vowed to stay off the drugs and stick by Kate Moss and Babyshambles. The news comes in a statement that the Daily Mirror claims was "overheard" following one of the band’s shows in Ireland – Doherty’s first appearances since checking out of the Priory rehab clinic. He paid tribute to his girlfriend Moss, his bandmates and his fans for sticking by him and said his drug use has been reduced to alcohol. "I’m off the drugs and I’m determined to stay off them. I’m more healthy than I’ve been in years. The only drugs I’m on at the moment is a little bit of booze," he explained. "I’m going to do it for the lads and for Kate. We’ve been though a lot together, everyone has stood by me during my darkest moments. "It was torture for them, I know, they could have gone off and formed another band but they stuck with me. It’s payback time now. I have to stay clean for the band and the fans. At the moment I’m trying my best to keep away from other junkies and situations where there’s a lot of drugs. "I was really worried that I couldn’t be creative without the drugs but now I know that I can. I think I’m writing some of my best stuff yet. Our fans have been through a lot with me, too, but we’ve got a great EP coming out which we’re very excited about. And we’ve enough material ready for a great new album." The singer has also recently expressed similar sentiments on his website. "Do you think they’ve sown some seeds in me at that Priory gaff?" he states. "Expensive f***ing seeds, I fancy, although it could be cheaper than getting bang on it this autumn."
