Pete Doherty has hit out at his former Libertines band mate Carl Barat, saying that the only thing he misses about him is the drugs. Doherty claimed in an interview that his band mate regularly provided him with drugs, despite the fact that Barat later kicked him out of the band for his wild behaviour. Pete Doherty was quoted as saying, "Do I miss him? He used to get me good crack. That’ll do ‘innit? He’s still really pissed off. But I know he’s not like that. He’s someone who likes drinking. That’s the hypocrisy of it." The Babyshambles frontman went on to criticise Barat’s new band Dirty Pretty Things. He said, "I paid the price. I got kicked out of the band. And with nothing, no sweat from anyone, we got it together with Babyshambles. "We really got it. All he’s got is the fact that he was in the best band and now he’s in the worst band. And he needs to sort that out."

There were rumors that the Libertines might reunite, but I think we can cross that off the list.

Troubled rocker Pete Doherty will escape a fine, despite breaking anti-smoking laws by lighting a cigarette during a performance in Scotland. The Babyshamles frontman broke laws banning smoking in public places at the Ironworks venue in Inverness. But authorities have issued him a warning instead of a £50 (€74.31) fine – angering anti-smoking campaigners who insist he has been spared because he is a celebrity. Politician Stewart Maxwell said: "If taxi drivers can be fined for smoking, then the idea that celebrities can get away with it is outrageous."

Seriously why are they so afraid of him giving him jail time or fining him?

Pete Doherty destroys a hotel room |

JUNKIE rocker Pete Doherty went bananas at a swanky hotel in an £10,000 wrecking spree. The Babyshambles frontman smashed furniture and electrical goods before leaving his £200-a-night room soaked in blood. The dirty dandy also tore down the curtains, shattered every mirror and then started a punch-up in the bar, fleeing after police were called. A source at London’s Malmaison said: "The man is an animal – he left the room looking worse than a war zone." Crazed Pete, 27, who yesterday was spared jail for drug offences, checked in with a mystery lady, leaving catwalk queen girlfriend Kate Moss, 32, in the cold. The star was fined £770 and banned from driving for four months at Thames Magistrates’ Court after being caught with crack, cocaine, heroin and cannabis. He escaped a jail term after telling the judge he is on the verge of landing a lucrative record deal. Pete, who last month said he was down to his last 27p, will need a big pay-cheque to pick up the tab for wrecking his room. He checked in on Thursday and held all- night boozing sessions for pals and hangers-on. A shocked spokesman for the Clerkenwell hotel said: "There’s evidence that he took drugs, the carpet’s wrecked, there are smash-ed bottles and make-up everywhere and the place is covered in blood." The spokesman added: "He’d been a nuisance for days but matters came to a head when he set off the fire alarm early on Sunday. "He then had a punch up in the bar. He was sent to his room to cool off but appears to have gone berserk in there." A source at the hotel, a fave with music A-listers like George Michael, 43, and Kylie Minogue, 38, said: "Staff were shaking when they saw the mess."

Pete Doherty smiled and hugged fans outside court Monday after a judge ruled he will not serve jail time for possession of drugs including heroin and crack cocaine. District Judge Jane McIvor ordered the 27-year-old Babyshambles singer to pay $1,525 in fines and court costs and ordered him not to drive for four months. "I feel relieved," Doherty told reporters outside Thames Magistrates’ Court in London. The singer was arrested in April for possession of less than 2 grams each of heroin, cannabis and cocaine, just three hours after he was sentenced to two years of community service for previous drug offenses. The drugs were found in the vehicle he was in and at his home. Doherty was arrested again Aug. 7 with a crack pipe and a small amount of crack cocaine, and pleaded guilty Aug. 18 to all five counts. "He’s not going to jail. It’s amazing," said 16-year-old fan Georgina Raymond, who jumped up and down screaming into her cell phone, "I hugged him!" In September, McIvor told Doherty he wouldn’t serve jail time for the charges if he continued rehabilitation, stayed employed and didn’t commit any other offenses. She also complimented him for his song "The Blinding." Doherty didn’t break any of the imposed restrictions, McIvor said. "Hitting your pocket is the way of punishing you in this case," McIvor said Monday. Doherty’s lawyer, Sean Curran, said there had been a "breakdown" in Doherty’s rehabilitation. Curran gave no details, but said he hoped Doherty would continue to make an effort to break his drug habit.

I just don’t get how he is not going jail, do they just want him to OD?

Pete Doherty buys Kate Moss a wedding dress |

PETE Doherty has splashed out on a vintage Christian Dior "wedding dress" for his fiance Kate Moss… from a secondhand store. The befuddled Babyshambles frontman spent £120 on the outfit at a shop in North London. Pete, who lest us forget has a long history of drug abuse, is now hopeful that the world’s most famous supermodel – dubbed The Millionairess by his friends – will wear it when they wed at Marylebone Register Office. That’s despite the fact, of course, that Kate could have her pick of any garment in the world for her special day. I can also reveal that the couple – putting aside a brief bust-up during a visit to Kate’s countryside retreat in the Cotswolds – are more deeply in love than ever and have even co-written a love song. A friend said: "In typical Pete and Kate style, they still have their bust-ups – but there’s no doubt it’s full steam ahead for the wedding. And it seems like he’s set his heart on this dress for Kate to wear." Pete – who was inter viewed and photographed by style-bible Vogue magazine last week – took a pal with him on his shopping trip. He found what he was looking for at second-hand store The Blue Carbuncle in his old stomping ground of Archway. An onlooker said: "Pete was immediately thrilled with the dress. He was saying how it would be perfect for Kate – and it certainly looked suitable for a cool wedding dress."
Daily Mirror
Wow he did something sane, I am scared for him now.
