Jessica Simpson is thinking about joining the cast of Working Girl, loosely based on the story of the hit Eighties film of the same name. The singer’s father and manager Joe was reportedly overheard discussing the project, in which his daughter would take on the ditsy role played by Melanie Griffiths in the original movie.A spokesperson for the star told the New York Daily News: "It is one of the scripts Jessica is considering."
Digital Spy
I do not know what horrifies more, Jessica acting in a real movie or that they are remaking this crap.

Nick Lachey talks about the divorce |

American-based singer and television star Nick Lachey says the only thing worse than his public split and divorce from Hollywood star Jessica Simpson is death. "That was a hard time and one of the hardest (in my life) for sure," said the 32-year-old."The only thing I can think of that can be harder would be losing someone. This has been such a drawn out, long thing, that it really is a difficult thing to go through, not just for me, but for anyone that has ever gone through it." Simpson and Lachey married in October 2002 and, for the first 18 months of their marriage, they filmed a fly-on-the-wall reality program, Newlyweds. But the pair split last November. Their divorce was finalised last month.Lachey, formerly of US boy band 98 Degrees, says his latest album reflects the heartache and pain he felt while going through a highly public separation. "It (the album) was inspired by personal experience and a snapshot of that period of time in my life and my relationship," he said. "So it’s very, very personal and very honest." While most people might turn to therapy to deal with their marriage breakdown, Lachey said music helped him heal."In a lot of ways when you go through something like that it’s important to get that stuff out and express those emotions," he said."Music was my therapy and being able to channel that through my lyrics was a very healthy thing for me."The timing couldn’t have been better. It was a real blessing to focus on that and use that as a way to express myself."He says how his ex-wife or others feel about the songs and their meanings isn’t his concern."I really didn’t care (what others thought)," he said."I felt that in order for me to make a great album I had to be honest with myself and my feelings."It wasn’t like I was revealing some great secret."Everyone knew what was going on with me and with us."For me to come out and do a song about how great love is, that would have been something people could have criticised because that’s not where my head was at."Rumoured to be dating MTV host Vanessa Minnillo, Lachey says he is enjoying single life.Dating an Australian girl isn’t out of the question."I’m into girls in general," he laughed. "Doesn’t matter where they are from. Obviously, I am single again and the whole dating thing is very interesting and a reinvented frontier."
The Age
Sounds like he is finally free from The Simpsons and can say what he wants.

Ashlee Simpson has been blasted by the U.S. edition of Marie Claire magazine, after she enthused about accepting body flaws only weeks before undergoing cosmetic surgery. In the July edition of Marie Claire, a pre-nose job Simpson declared, "Everyone is made differently, and that’s what makes us beautiful and unique. I want girls to look in the mirror and feel confident." In the time between the cover interview taking place and publication, Simpson underwent a rhinosplasty operation at a Los Angeles clinic on April 21 and has since had long blonde hair extensions. After the interview was published, over 1,000 readers wrote to the magazine in protest and Simpson has been featured on dozens of internet blogs, being lambasted as a ‘hypocrite’.New editor Joanne Coles – who has just replaced Lesley Jane Seymour, in charge at the time of Simpson’s interview – writes in the September issue, "We’re dazed and confused – and disappointed – by her choice, too."

I feel for Ashlee because she is compared to her sister who got all the looks in the family.

Are Jessica Simpson’s parents butting heads over their daughter’s sexy image? The reality show star’s manager father has publicly applauded his daughter’s bodacious appeal. “She just is sexy,” Joe Simpson once said. “If you put her in a T-shirt or you put her in a bustier, she’s sexy in both. She’s got double Ds! You can’t cover those suckers up!”But now there’s buzz that Simpson’s mother furiously put the brakes on a racy photo shoot that her hubby had approved. The divorcing “Dukes of Hazzard” star recently posed for OK! magazine, and her father gave his thumbs up to a shot of her lying on a bed in her skivvies while a hunky guy near her unbuttoned his shirt. “Time out! Hold it!” Simpson’s mother, Tina, was shouting, according to the Hamilton Spectator. “Nope, this isn’t going to work.” Tina Simpson said she was forbidding her daughter to be photographed that way and that the pose made the starlet look “slutty” reports the mag. A source says: “The parents had a discussion with Tina saying: ‘Trust me, I’m her mother. This isn’t the image we want.’”
