For 46 years news footage, radio reports, audio recordings and home movies of the Assassination of President John F. Kennedy have been kept under wraps by the stations that owned them and then by museums. That is until tonight at 9p when National Geographic will air a two special showing a glimpse of what was uncovered in the over 100 hours of footage. The Lost JFK Tapes: The Assassination documents all the major events that went on during the four days that changed America. It starts out with JFK’s arrival in Dallas on November 22 and ends with the burial of Lee Harvey Oswald on November 26th. There is no new audio commentary added, it is just all of the news coverage edited together to tell one of the biggest stories in our nation’s history as it unfolded.
This is an absolutely amazing documentary that makes you feel as though you are watching news coverage of that event as it happened in a way I never seen done before. While we have see the parade route, the announcement of his death, Lee Harvey Oswald being shot before, this documentary shows what the city of Dallas was going through for those 4 days. You feel their pain and sorrow as they learn the President has been shot and you feel their anger when Lee Harvey was arrested to their shock that he was shot by Jack Ruby. It is just riveting piece of work that keeps your attention glued to the TV screen for the whole two hours. Whether you are familiar with those four days back in November of 1963 or this is the first time you have really seen anything about it, you will find yourself enthralled by The Lost JFK Tapes: The Assassination on National Geographic at 9p so make sure to watch this brilliant masterpiece as it plays out. Sincerely the documentary left me in awe and it is the best thing I have ever seen on JFK’s assassination and I have seen several movies and specials about it!

If you are like me and ever since you saw the trailer for 2012 and you have been wondering what is the significance of December 21, 2012 then you are going to watch National Geographic’s 2012: Countdown to Armageddon tonight at 8p. The one hour special goes in to depth what the Mayans think is going to happen on 12/21/12 and why they specified that date. The show is a really interesting as explains what happened when the Mayans came up with that date and all that took place at that time to what is suppose to happen on that date they preditced. After watching 2012: Countdown to Armageddon I have to admit, I am scared to see 2012 in the theaters because now that I know what is predicted to happen in a little over three years, I am not sure I can handle a movie showing it. But saying that I still highly suggest watching the National Geographic show at 8p because it really explains about something we are going to be hearing a lot about over the next 3 years! It is like Y2K all over again! Let’s hope it ends the same way, with nothing happening!

In a metropolitan area with more than 20 million residents, thousands of animals — dogs, cats, and even chickens and piranhas — are neglected, abused, hoarded or housed illegally. A few years ago, eight tough guys from the mean streets, who frequented hot rod shows and tattoo parlors, discovered their strongest bond was actually a passion for animals — and they formed a rescue organization like no other. Some have violent and turbulent pasts, complete with run-ins with the law, but all are seeking redemption and solace in their mission to save animals from human abuse.
This new weekly series that documents this unlikely group of animal activists on their crusade to save helpless, abandoned and abused animals. The eclectic band of brothers — composed of club bouncers, security guards and even a retired New York Police Department (NYPD) detective — is on call 24/7 to take on cases no one else will. They’re not cops, animal experts or even animal control. They’re just big guys with even bigger hearts and a desire to save animals from deplorable living conditions and abusive or simply misguided owners.
Rescue Ink Unleashed premieres on National Geographic tonight at 10p and these 8 tough guys will capture your hearts with what they do! These 8 guys help the helpless, animals. They rescue them from bad and difficult situations or they work with the owners to teach them how to take care of their animals. In tonight’s episode they help a guy, who is hospitalized after being brutally beaten up, and he can’t go home to feed his 3 pitbulls, so they are called him to find a temporary home for them while their owner recovers. They also have to help capture several chickens that have taken residence in an area where they are unwanted, and the chickens actually give them a run for their money. The last case is the toughest, some a$$hole is shooting feral cats with a pellet gun that have been peeing in his backyard. The guys go in to help him and even though he welcomed their help, the f*cker calls the cops on them. Even though he did that, they vow if they get any more calls about him shooting the cats they will be back to talk to him again. Hopefully the sh!t learned his lesson and didn’t shoot anymore cats. Next week’s episode is about two different dog calls and piranhas. And as tough as the dog stories start out to be, they have happy endings! That is what makes Rescue Ink Unleashed so awesome, even though what these 8 guys start out with is a horrible situation for the most part they turn things around! So make sure to check out this show tonight and every Friday at 10p for a show that will really warm your heart!!!
BTW to find out more about these 8 terrific guys, check out Rescue Ink.

Two amazing stories about girls on tonight’s Nat Geo! |

Tonight on National Geographic starting at 9p they are telling the stories of two amazing girls. At 9p it is the story of The Girl Who Cries Blood. “Twinkle spontaneously bleeds from her eyes as well as her head, hands and other body parts — though there is no visible source or injury to explain it. Some say a bad omen has been cast, others think she is possessed, and yet others think it could be self-inflicted. Hoping for a breakthrough, Twinkle and her mother put their faith in a top American blood specialist who is flying to India to investigate her extraordinary case.” Twinkle’s story is so interesting and sad because the doctors don’t know what causes her to bleed, but even without an answer Twinkle and her mom still stick together and remain strong. Hopefully one day they will find out why she suddenly bleeds with no signs of injury.
After Twinkle’s story is told, it is time for Jyoti’s The World’s Smallest Girl at 10p. “At age 15, Jyoti is about the size of a 6-month-old baby, at 12 pounds and 23-and-a-half inches tall. With weak, breakable bones, she has sustained a number of serious injuries, including fractures to both of her legs that prevent her from walking normally. A top orthopedic surgeon believes an operation to fix her legs is possible, but the family isn’t sure modern medicine is the answer.” Her story is so inspirational because even though she is just 23 inches tall she has the personality of a giant. She does not let her injuries or size keep her down. Plus the way her family makes her feel like a normal little girl is so encouraging.
So tune into the National Geographic starting at 9p for two amazing stories about two teenage girls who overcome their unknown medical illnesses.
