Jay Leno has had a rough couple of years. In 2022, he suffered second and third-degree burns on his face and upper body due to an accidental fire at his garage. Shortly after that, he suffered a broken collarbone, two fractured ribs, and two cracked kneecaps during a motorcycle accident.
So you would think walking would be safe for him. It isn’t.
On November 16th, he had a standup gig at Yaamva Casino, and he wanted something to eat. The worker at the hotel on a hill he was staying at told him there was a place down the hill. However, he was going to have to walk there.
He told a TMZ photographer that he thought he could walk down the hill. He was mistaken. He slipped down the hill, and his face hit a rock to stop his fall.
He got up, went back to his hotel, and did his show because the show must go on. He didn’t let a swollen black and blue face and eye stop him.
So when he got back to LA, he finally went to the doctor. Now, the comedian is sporting an eye patch, a badly bruised face, and a bandaged wrist.
He is not letting that stop him from doing more shows yesterday.
I am beginning to think Leno is indestructible because nothing seems to stop him.
Hopefully, he is not in too much pain, and the bruising won’t last too long.
Back in November, Jay Leno suffered third degrees on his head, chest, and hands after his antique car caught on fire while he was working under it. The comedian has already revealed that he got new skin on his face. And now he is letting us know that is not all he got replaced.
Recently when he was on the Fly on the Wall podcast with Dana Carvey and David Spade, the comedian shared with the former SNL stars that he also got a new ear. “When you get burned in a fire, ears are like paper. They’re so thin it just goes up,” he said.
Now, he didn’t say which is the new ear, so we are just going to have to try not to stare to figure it out. Because you know we are going to do that.
I just want to say that they have come a long way in burn care. You can even tell that he got skin grafts. It is amazing, and I hope they keep advancing.
It has not been a few good months for Jay Leno and classic wheels. In November, the car he was working on suddenly caught fire, and he suffered burns on his upper body. Then on January 17th, he was injured again.
We know this because when The Las Vegas Journal asked him for an update on his first accident, he told them about the second one. He told them, “Last week, I got knocked off my motorcycle. So I’ve got a broken collarbone. I’ve got two broken ribs. I’ve got two cracked kneecaps.” And then he added that he is OK and would be hitting the road again.
When it comes to how he fell off of the motorcycle, that is another interesting story. “So I turned down a side street and cut through a parking lot, and unbeknownst to me, some guy had a wire strung across the parking lot but with no flag hanging from it,” Leno said. “So, you know, I didn’t see it until it was too late. It just clothesline me and, boom, knocked me off the bike.”
If I was his wife, I would tell him that he needs to get rid of all of his old cars and bikes. And he might want to do that because rumor has it that CNBC cancelled his show Jay Leno’s Garage.
Less than two weeks ago, Jay Leno suffered third-degree burns on his face, chest, and hands when one of his cars suddenly caught on fire. The comedian spent just over a week in the hospital, but he was released on Monday looking healthy and happy.
Therefore, he believes the show must go on, so on Sunday, he will take the stage again at The Comedy & Magic Club in Hermosa Beach, California, according to Page Six.
Gd bless him. If it were me, I would stay in bed and heal. Not him, he wants to do what he does, and that is make people laugh.
Last weekend, Jay Leno suffered third-degree burns on his face, chest, and hands after a car he was working on suddenly caught on fire. Because of his injuries, he was rushed to the Grossman Burn Center, and they spent the last week working on making him better.
They did such a great job on the 72-year-old that he was released from the hospital this morning.
“After a 10-day stay at the facility, Jay will receive follow-up care at the Grossman Outpatient Burn Clinic for burns to his face, chest, and hands he received during a fire at his home garage,” Grossman Burn Center said in a statement to People. “Jay would like to let everyone know how thankful he is for the care he received, and is very appreciative of all of the well wishes. He is looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with his family and friends and wishes everyone a wonderful holiday.”
Along with the statement, the hospital released a photo of Leno. It is the first time we are seeing his mug since the accident, and he looks great. You can barely see any scarring.
Hopefully, his recovery will continue to go smoothly.
