Antanas Kontrimas holds the Guinness World Record for Heaviest Weight Lifted by a Human Beard. The man from Lithuania got in the famous book because his facial hair was able to hold a woman who weighs 140 lb 16 oz, for over five seconds. How someone discovers they have that talent, I don’t know. But he did, and he gives new meaning to she’s his beard.

Gene Simmons brags about the length of his tongue being 7″ long, but it is not listed in the 2015 Guinness Book of World Records. Nick Stoeberl’s nearly 4 incher is the record holder in the 60th anniversary edition of the book that is out now.

Now back to record breaker, as a woman, I don’t know if I should be impressed or scared. I think it is a little bit of both and a whole lot of curiosity. Although after reading this Tweet from him “My tongue is so advanced I can taste fear. I kiss my girlfriend, and I taste fear.”, I am suddenly more scared of it than impressed, but even more curious! Alan Edward Labbe’s Afro is so groovy, that it’s a Guinness World Record holder. The Massachusetts resident’s curly top measures 5.75″ in height, 8.5″ in width, and boasts a circumference of 5′ .75″.
How large is that? The Jackson 5 dreamed their hair could get that high at the height of their careers. Shack finds it a crime, he couldn’t compare to Alan. Bob Ross would think it is so beautiful; he would paint a tree on it somewhere. LMFAO’s Redfoo would sing Sexy and I Know It to the ‘do! And Questlove will want to get to Roots of it.
Seriously, how beautiful his that head of hair? Now, I want to know what the key to his locks is. How does he tame that mane? I bet it has to be a chore, but it is well worth it because it totally works on him.
Labbe isn’t the only record holder in the 60th anniversary edition of the Guinness Book of World Records, there are many others. The Guinness World Book of Records has added a new hot dog to its pages. Tokyo Dog in Seattle has created a wiener that is so expensive, it costs a record breaking $169. What makes it so expensive? The foot long dog called the Juuni Ban “contains smoked cheese bratwurst, butter Teriyaki grilled onions, Maitake mushrooms, Wagyu beef, foie gras, shaved black truffles, caviar and Japanese mayonnaise, all served up in a brioche bun.” Sounds yummy to you? Then call the food truck two weeks in advance if you want to try it. All proceeds from the world’s most expensive hot dog go to the American Red Cross.
Since I am from NYC, I will stick with the boring old sauerkraut and mustard. What do you like on your red hot?
There is a new very furry cat in the Guinness Book of World Records and her name is Sophie. She is a 2-year-old rescue cat from Oceanside, California and the fur on her tail measures 25.68 centimetres (10.11 inches). That beats out the last holder of the title by over an inch.
Sophie’s mom, Jami, acquired her one day when she was walking her dog and a man in a truck asked her if she wanted the kitten in the paperbag he was holding. She wasn’t sure if there really was one in there, but as soon as she got her hands on the bag she realized there was one inside. She originally intended to bring the kitten into the shelter, but after 30 minutes she was in love. How can you not love that face and long beautiful tail?
As the owner of a long haired kitty, I feel for Jami. I know what it is like to have fur all over the place and my baby’s fur is about half the length of Sophie’s.
