The Barrens is out now in a Blu-ray combo pack and this movie will make you never want to camp again. It is movies like this one that is why I have never gone camping and I never will.
Richard Vineyard (Stephen Moyer) takes his family to New Jersey Pine Barrens for a camping trip and they will never be the same. Vineyard went there as a kid and he is convinced that he was chased by the Jersey Devil back then. Now decades later he thinks he the urban legend that has been haunting the area for over 400 years is back and after him. This hallucination will get him and his wife (Mia Kirshner), his daughter (Allie MacDonald) and their son (Peter DaCunha) lost in the woods fighting for their lives. But is his family’s life being threatened by the unknown Jersey Devil or the man they know better than anyone. You will have to watch this terrifying movie to find out.
Even though this movie scared the sh!t out of me, I couldn’t stop watching and wanting to know how the suspenseful flick ended.
And on that note the Blu-ray combo pack includes an alternate ending that I am happy the producers were able to get removed from the final product. They explain that in the commentary included with that scene and you can hear their other thoughts in the audio commentary during the movie.
Chained is one of the most terrifying movies you will ever see and yet you won’t be able to turn the Blu-ray, that is out now, off.
