A Little Bird hinted that Annie Lennox’s Sweet Dreams of touring are over?
April 18th, 2011 under Annie Lennox, Concerts/Tours. [ Comments: none ]

Annie Lennox posted a blog on her site that makes it seem like she will no longer be touring. The Walking on Broken Glass singer is breaking a lot of hearts by posting this:

I doubt that I’ll ever tour again because quite honestly…it just wears me out mentally and physically, and my back and left foot are rubbish.
In any case, I think I spent enough time waiting in cars, hotel rooms and dressing rooms for Godot to actually make a personal appearance.
In the future performers will tour by hologram on a regular basis…undoubtedly.
Meanwhile… Today I’m featuring an artist who has been “disappeared”..Ai Weiwei…love Annie

For some reason I doubt she will stop touring, she will just take a break from it. In a few years she will crave that feeling that only performing live gives her and she will back on the road just like Cher, Barbra Streisand and The Cure said and did before her.

$10,000 reward for Roger Waters missing pig
April 28th, 2008 under Concerts/Tours. [ Comments: none ]

Seriously how do you lose a pig that is the size of a school bus? Well I guess if you cut the cords and let a pig fly free during the last performance of a three-day outdoor music festival, you are going to get a bunch of hungry stoners who think that might be dinner!!! Not sure how they lost it, but the promoters of Coachella are offering $10,000 and 4 free lifetime passes to whomever returns the pig according to Wired.
Here is a description of the pig, in case you see a deflated pig the size of a school bus just laying around.

The pig was covered with political graffiti: “Don’t be led to the slaughter,” read one slogan. “Fear builds walls,” read another. A cartoon Uncle Sam painted on the pig held two bloody cleavers, and the porker’s belly read “Obama,” with a checked ballot box alongside

If you find the pig, please contact [email protected]!
Thanks Denise!

A must see tour for fans of ’80s
April 9th, 2008 under Concerts/Tours. [ Comments: none ]

Forget spending a lot of money for one '80s band/singer like Duran Duran, George Michael, Yaz(oo) or New Kids on the Block, when you can spend a lot less to see 5 bands at once. Human League, Belinda Carlisle, ABC, Dead or Alive (thru Aug 11), A Flock of Seagulls (beginning August 13) and Naked Eyes have announced that they will be touring this summer with the Regeneration Tour!!!
I don't know about you, but I am spinning round round like a record over the news because I know there will be Always Something There to Remind Me what a good show this will be and it will be Heaven is a Place on Earth and not just Living in Electric Dreams!
Here are the dates for this must see tour!!!
Dodge Theater in Phoenix (August 1) and then heads to the Planet Hollywood Theater in Las Vegas (August 2), Concerts in The Park @ Viejas in San Diego (August 4), the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles (August 5), the Usana Amphitheater, Salt Lake City (August 7), and then on to the Mountain Winery in Saratoga, CA. (August 11). Eastern stops begin at the Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis, MA (August 19), then moves to the Bank of America Pavilion in Boston (August 20), Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, NJ (August 21), Jones Beach Amphitheater, Wantagh, NY (August 22), DTE Music Amphitheater, Detroit (August 24), National City Pavilion, Cincinnati (August 25), Wolf Trap Amphitheater, Vienna, VA (August 26), Koka Booth Amphitheater, Cary, NC (August 28), and wraps up at the Chastain Park Amphitheater, Atlanta (August 29).
Who is in with me!!!

Billy Joel will be the last concert at Shea Stadium
February 7th, 2008 under Concerts/Tours. [ Comments: 1 ]

This is the last years that The Mets will be playing Shea Stadium, but before they move out Billy Joel will be the last concert there on July 16th according to GigWise. It is so sad to think that both Yankee Stadium and Shea Stadium are no more, but at least Shea will go out with the only singer who has played both.
Here is a little factoid, after The Police played Shea Sting said "we can't any bigger this" and thus the begiinning of the end.
Side note I originally found this story on Billboard, but because of this line "Joel joins a long list of Rock & Roll Hall of Famers will have played the Bronx, N.Y. baseball stadium" I couldn't credit them. (Shea is in Queens, Yankee Stadium is in The Bronx.)
