Guns N' Roses announced on their website that now that they are under new management, and that we might finally get Chinese Democracy. Tears of joy are being heard around world, by all those GNR fans who have been waiting 17 years for this album. Personally I am excited for my free Dr Pepper!!!
Dr Pepper are such huge Guns N’ Roses fans that they are willing to give everyone in America a free Dr Pepper if Axl Rose and Guns N’ Roses finally release Chinese Democracy in the year 2008. They have been waiting 17 years for this CD and they have had it, they want their CD and they are willing to put their soda on the line for it!
“It took a little patience to perfect Dr Pepper’s special mix of 23 ingredients, which our fans have come to know and love,†said Jaxie Alt, director of marketing for Dr Pepper. “So we completely understand and empathize with Axl’s quest for perfection – for something more than the average album. We know once it’s released, people will refer to it as “Dr Pepper for the ears” because it will be such a refreshing blend of rich, bold sounds – an instant classic.â€Â
I am finally excited for a new GNR album just for the free Dr Pepper, aren’t you?
Oh and BTW everyone gets the free Dr Pepper, but Slash and Buckethead. Sorry guys.
UPDATE: Axl Rose responded to Dr Pepper’s offer!
A Guns N' Roses website in Italy has shut down because they are fed up with all the postponements on Chinese Democracy. The album was rescheduled to come out on March 6th and GNR postponed it earlier this week again.
GNROnlie.IT left a message to their fans that Guns N' Roses has until February 2006 to release the album or they will release the domain. They also had this to say:
we regret to tell you that in relation to the protest we started on December 7th 2006, our Guns fan sites and forums, gnronline.it and gnronline.org, will be shut down at once. The never ending saga of Chinese Democracy, the lack of respect, clearness and mutual loyalty are just some of the reasons that has brought us down to this painful conclusion. Until now our detractors have always accused us of being “Axl Fanatics” (and to a certain degree it is probably true) but today we aren’t able to sustain Axl’s project anymore, neither financially nor economically. We just can’t afford to waste our heads on a project that has never even taken us into consideration. We gladly leave that to other “fan” sites and forums that have the will and passion to be fooled around one more time.
I doubt Axl will care or that they album will be out by then.
Earlier today, we told you how Eagles of Death Metal got booted from their opening slot on the Guns N’ Roses tour after just one gig, with GNR fans booing them roundly and Axl calling them “Pigeons of Shit Metal” during his set. Well, the Eagles have responded: “At first the audience refused to welcome us to the jungle, but by the time we took our final bow, it had become paradise city. Although Axl tried to November rain on our parade, no sweet child o’ mine can derail the EODM night train. We say live and let die.” While the Eagles’ rebuttal may be just as silly as Axl’s diss, big ups to them for not dipping so low as to mention Axl’s hideous cornrows, shaky voice, or how, you know, GNR’s new album has been delayed longer than the return of Christ.
Sounds like Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose has dropped the axe on supporting act Eagles of Death Metal, who were slated to open for the band when they play MTS Centre next Tuesday. The hard-rockin’ Eagles, led by Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme, have been dropped from the opening slot on the Gunners’ Chinese Democracy tour, following a poor reception at their first gig in Cleveland last Friday. According to music website Idolator (itself quoting Product Shop NYC), the Nov. 24 show at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland began with a half-hour set by Sebastian Bach, followed by the Eagles of Death Metal, who weren’t exactly warmly received by the crowd. "They got booed and jeered and completely bombed for a complete hour," reads the website. Following a performance by Suicide Girls burlesque troupe — then another two-hour wait — Rose and the most recent configuration of GN’R took to the stage. A few songs into their set, Rose quipped, "So, how’d you like the Pigeons of S– Metal? Don’t worry, that’s the last show they’re playing with us." A spokesman for the Eagles’ label confirmed that the band has, in fact, been taken off the tour. Any mention of the GN’R shows has been removed from the Eagles’ official website, and a number of sympathetic messages were left on the band’s MySpace page over the weekend. "Sorry to hear about (your) being dropped," reads a posting from Rocketsauce. "Axl doesn’t feel like being upstaged, I guess." The incident is the latest in the ongoing roller-coaster of lunacy that is the latest GN’R tour. Rose already canceled a show in Maine earlier this month after state officials told him the band couldn’t consume alcohol on stage. And even when he does end up performing, he hasn’t been going onstage until after midnight. An official comment from the Eagles of Death Metal camp is forthcoming, according to the label’s rep. At press time yesterday, there was no word on how the lineup change would affect next week’s local concert.
