Prince Frederic von Anhalt, the husband of Zsa Zsa Gabor, told the Associated Press he plans to file a paternity challenge in court this week to gain custody of Anna Nicole Smith’s infant daughter, even if it costs him his marriage. "I’m going to make the DNA test," he said. "If the court rules in my favor, I will go to the Bahamas and pick up the child." Von Anhalt, 59, and Gabor, 90, have been married for more than 20 years. The news of her husband’s alleged affair has deeply upset Gabor, according to von Anhalt. "She says, of course, ‘If you bring a baby home then it’s over,"’ he said. "If my wife wants to divorce me then it’s up to her." Von Anhalt will join two other men already claiming they fathered the child, Dannielynn. Smith’s companion Howard K. Stern is listed on the infant’s birth certificate as the father, but former Smith boyfriend Larry Birkhead is waging a legal challenge also claiming he is the father.

TMZ is reporting his timing is perfect for this being a publicity stunt because all the international press is here for the Oscars. I think it is a total publicity stunt because what took him so long to admit it. That and he says he will pick up "the child." If there was even a remote chance of him being the dad, he would say I would pick up my daughter, not "the child." Don’t you think? What a weirdo!

Another day, another man claims to be the father of Anna Nicole Smith’s daughter
February 19th, 2007 under Anna Nicole Smith. [ Comments: none ]

He claims to be Anna Nicole’s secret lover, and now, in this “Extra” world exclusive, a heartbroken Alexander Denk drops a bombshell about Baby Dannielynn’s real father and Anna’s secret medical condition that may have caused her death. “She told me everything,” Denk told us. “She told me things no one else knows.” Denk, who was Anna Nicole’s bodyguard for two years, first met the supermodel when he was cast as the chef on "The Anna Nicole Show.” “I think it was an instant spark, and I think for her it was the same,” he said. Denk claims he and Anna had a passionate love affair that lasted for two years. “She was wonderful,” he insisted. “A very sensitive and emotional woman. A very good kisser, I must say.” But Alexander told “Extra” that he knew Anna was in trouble the last time he talked to her two weeks ago, a conversation that now haunts him. “She was sick of being called names,” he said. “Everyone was bashing on her and calling her names and putting her down and suing her.” Now, only on “Extra,” Denk breaks this stunning secret about Anna’s health that could affect the investigation into her death. He claims the reality TV star suffered from life threatening seizures, for which she was on medication. But Denk does not believe drugs were to blame for Anna Nicole’s death. “My opinion, I don’t think so,” he told us. “I think she was exhausted.” Then, Denk dropped the baby bombshell we never saw coming. When asked if Smith ever revealed to him the real father of Dannielynn, Denk responded, “She always told me she wanted to have her kids with me.” So is there a possibility Denk is Dannielynn’s father? “There’s always a possibility,” he insisted. Alexander hired prominent Beverly Hills attorney Cyrus Nownejad, and he made it clear he wants to raise Baby Dannielynn if she is his. But for now, his thoughts are with his lost love. “Poor Anna, Denk said through tears. “I hope she’s in peace wherever she is.”

If only she would’ve gotten the test the first time the court asked her to none of this would be an issue now. Or would it?

Howard K Stern’s sister defends him
February 19th, 2007 under Anna Nicole Smith. [ Comments: none ]

Anna Nicole Smith’s partner, Howard K. Stern, was not with the former Playboy playmate when she died, but he knew she was very sick, his sister says. Stern had told his sister that Smith was running a fever of 105 degrees shortly before her death on Thursday, and that a nurse was "icing her down" earlier that day at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Fla. "When he left her, she was sleeping," Bonnie Stern said. He had been gone only about two hours when news reached him that Smith was dead, she said. A private nurse had called 911 after finding the former model unresponsive. Bonnie Stern, who recently traveled from her Beverly Hills home to the Bahamas to comfort her brother, said that he had tried to get Smith to visit a doctor but Smith had refused because she was afraid that it would draw publicity. "They had plans to get a yacht and to buy an engagement ring. They were going to get married Feb. 27. It was going to be a real marriage," she said. Asked what she thought caused Smith’s death, Bonnie Stern said: "Her immunity was so low. She was so depressed. She kept getting sick and her body just probably broke down." Smith had never recovered from the loss of her 20-year-old son, Daniel, who died in the Bahamas in September while visiting his mother and newborn half-sister at a hospital, friends said. Smith had met Stern in 1996 when she was referred to his law firm, Bonnie Stern said. "He started doing her legal work and then he became her confidant. They became best friends and then he fell in love with her," she said. Stern, 38, is listed on a birth certificate as the father of Smith’s baby girl. He said in an interview with "Entertainment Tonight" that he is the executor of a will drafted for Smith that will leave everything to the little girl, Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern.

Maybe it is me, but if someone has a fever of 105 you take them to a hospital and not just have a nurse ice them down. And if he loved her so much, why did he leave her to buy a yacht? Why didn’t remain by her side? Things that make you go hmmm

Anna Nicole Smith finally embalmed
February 19th, 2007 under Anna Nicole Smith. [ Comments: none ]

The body of starlet Anna Nicole Smith was embalmed Saturday, under a court order issued a day earlier. They promised not to discuss, write about, photograph or draw the body. "They did an excellent job, and the body will be ready for viewing with no problem," Perper said. "In other words, she's basically looking like she looked in life or very, very close to that." Attorneys for photographer Larry Birkhead, who claims he's the father of Smith's baby girl, fought to delay the embalming until an additional DNA sample was taken from her body Thursday. The body remains at the medical examiner's facility, awaiting developments in a Fort Lauderdale courthouse, where Smith's estranged mother Virgie Arthur and her companion Howard K. Stern, resume their battle Tuesday over where the Playboy model should be buried. Arthur wants Smith brought to her home state of Texas; Stern wants to put her in a plot in the Bahamas next to her son.

USA Today

I still say we will know who the father of Dannielynn is before she is buried. James Brown and her should be kept frozen at the same place while their families continue to put themselves before their loved ones.

LA says yes, Florida says no to releasing Anna Nicole Smith’s body and the Bahamas says Dannielynn must stay in the country
February 19th, 2007 under Anna Nicole Smith. [ Comments: none ]

Judges on both coasts weighed in Wednesday on what to do with Anna Nicole Smith’s body amid the custody dispute over her infant daughter, moving closer to releasing the former Playboy Playmate’s body for burial. A Florida judge, citing a California court’s order last week for DNA testing on Smith’s body, ordered a morgue not to release it. A Los Angeles judge, however, quickly lifted
a request that the body be held. “California has no need for the body of Anna Nicole,” said James Neavitt, an attorney for Howard K. Stern, one of several men claiming paternity of 5-month-old Dannielynn. Neavitt said Florida officials who performed the autopsy on Smith have preserved her DNA. Attorneys for Stern went back to Circuit Judge Lawrence Korda in Florida to ask that the body be released. Korda had ordered the body held for 10 days after a brief meeting in his chambers Wednesday morning with attorneys
for photographer Larry Birkhead, who claims to be the baby’s father. Birkhead asked the Florida court Tuesday to enforce the California court order for DNA testing filed Friday, the day after Smith died. Nancy Hass, an attorney for Birkhead, said the Birkhead camp feared that accurate DNA testing would not be possible if the body were released and moved out of state. Smith’s mother, Vergie Arthur, and Stern had been opposing last week’s decision by the Los Angeles judge, fearing that if the body is not embalmed,
even though it is refrigerated, it will not be suitable for viewing or funeral purposes. “We would just want … to proceed with a proper burial,” Ron Rale, the attorney who had represented Smith in the California paternity battle, said before the hearing in Los Angeles. “No one should go about touching Anna Nicole,” Rale said. Krista Barth, another lawyer for Stern, said Smith made it clear she wanted to be buried in the Bahamas, where her son is buried, and condemned what she said were Arthur’s efforts to bury
her daughter’s body in Texas. “I think we all know Anna wants to be next to Daniel, and anything else is a tragedy,” Barth said. A Bahamian judge issued an injunction Tuesday preventing the baby from being taken out of the country until the custody case is resolved. Arthur wants to be named guardian of her granddaughter and sought the order because she feared Stern would take the child from the Bahamas, her lawyer said Wednesday. Arthur has said she fears for the baby’s safety, noting Stern was present when Smith
died and when Smith’s son died in the Bahamas in September, three days after Dannielynn was born. Stern has said Smith hated her mother. As the dispute unfolded in court, Broward County medical examiner Joshua Perper filed an affidavit Tuesday urging the prompt release of the body, warning that “any further delay would result in destructive changes to the body.” Susan Brown, who with Hass represented Birkhead at Wednesday’s hearing in Florida, said she did not object to Smith being embalmed. Perper said the model’s
body will remain refrigerated until he receives a judge’s order. Daniellynn could inherit millions from her mother’s estate. Rale is executor of Smith’s estate. He and Stern, a co-executor, are authorized to make funeral arrangements. A hearing was set for next Tuesday in Los Angeles to consider whether DNA from Smith can be used in the paternity case.

CBS News

I also think she would want to be buried with Daniel, so it will be interesting to see what happens with that. That and who will actually handle her funeral and burial, her mom or Howard K Stern?
