The private medical examiner who performed an autopsy on Anna Nicole Smith’s son in the Bahamas claims that the reality TV star still hasn’t paid him for his work. Cyril Wecht said he had been in contact with various Bahamian attorneys representing both Anna Nicole Smith and her partner, Howard K Stern. "I do expect it to be resolved in short order. This is not going to be something we’re dealing with years down the road," he said. He added that he submitted invoices for payment shortly after the autopsy was performed on September 17, but has declined to comment on the sum owed. Daniel Smith, 20, died while visiting his mother in hospital on the Bahamian island of Nassau just three days after the 38-year-old former Playboy model gave birth to a daughter. The forensic pathologist from Pittsburgh, who gained fame as a consultant on celebrity cases including Elvis Presley’s death, concluded that Daniel had died from a combination of methadone and antidepressants. Results of an official autopsy and a police investigation have not yet been released.

Anna Nicole Smith looking for new home in the Bahamas? |

Anna Nicole Smith is house-hunting in the Bahamas, where a former boyfriend is seeking to remove her from a waterfront home where she has taken refuge since her son’s death. The reality TV star and her companion, Howard K. Stern, are considering homes on various islands in the archipelago, Smith’s attorney, Wayne Munroe, said Monday. Smith, who gave birth to a daughter in the Bahamas, used the house in Nassau as the basis for her application for permanent residency. The home has been the subject of an ownership dispute between her and a South Carolina businessman. If a court rules against her in the dispute, Munroe said Smith wants to make sure she can meet the condition of owning a home worth at least $500,000 needed to maintain permanent residency in the Bahamas. "What is involved now is a leisurely look at other houses," Munroe said. Smith’s former boyfriend G. Ben Thompson, a South Carolina businessman who claims Smith has not honored an agreement to pay the mortgage on the Nassau house, escalated their feud Friday by having the power cut off at the home. The electric utility restored power within hours and is reviewing Thompson’s request, Munroe said. Thompson’s Bahamian attorney, Emerick Knowles, said the tactic was warranted because Smith has refused multiple requests to vacate the property. "Mr. Thompson is the owner of the property and it is being unlawfully occupied by Ms. Anna Nicole Smith," Knowles said. Munroe criticized the measure as mean-spirited. "They’re trying shenanigans that are totally inappropriate with a woman at home with a newborn child," he said. "Nobody seems to have any regard for this child."

How could any judge side with her on this one? And her lawyer and committed husband should know better.

Anna Nicole Smith had her power turned off on Friday, and it wasn’t pretty. The drama played out in the Bahamas, where Smith has been living with her newborn baby and attorney Howard K. Stern. Smith’s former "friend," G. Ben Thompson, claims to own the property and wants her out. Last Friday, Thompson contacted the power company rep to pull the plug. Without warning, Anna had no juice for her hairdryer, no power to watch herself on "E.T." — nothing. Four hours later, after lots of threats from her lawyer, the power company agreed to a temporary reprieve until today. But wait, there’s more! Thompson and his son-in-law flew to the Bahamas on Friday and the son-in-law got on the property and served Smith with an eviction lawsuit. We’re told Smith ran back inside the house and then appeared on the balcony and, in classic antebellum style, began screaming: "You get off this property. This is a gift and I ain’t ever leaving. And I’ll show you, Ben, you ain’t never gonna see the baby again! You did a declaration for that f***head Larry Birkhead!" For the record, we’re informed that Smith told Thompson back in May that he was the father, only to learn that it was impossible because he had a vasectomy several years ago. Birkhead, Smith’s former boyfriend, is currently suing to establish paternity. We should know by the end of the day if Anna will be burning candles tonight.

What a nice gift to get? I hope they kick her out and she moves back to the states and Birkhead gets his daughter!

A businessman embroiled in a property dispute with Anna Nicole Smith said Thursday he wants to evict the reality TV star from the mansion where she has been secluded since her son’s death in September. South Carolina developer G. Ben Thompson, who says he is a former boyfriend of Smith, told reporters that he loaned her money to buy the waterfront mansion for nearly $1 million, but she has failed to make payments on the mortgage. Smith, a former Playboy Playmate, has cited ownership of the home as the basis of her claim of residency in the Bahamas, where she came to give birth to a daughter. Her 20-year-old son, Daniel, died under mysterious circumstances at the hospital three days after she gave birth. Thompson said at a news conference in Nassau that he met Smith about 18 months ago and they had a "short relationship." He said they remained friendly until the dispute over the house in an exclusive neighborhood on the eastern end of New Providence island. "I’m shocked and appalled at what she’s done," he said. Thompson, of Myrtle Beach, said Smith told him that he was the father of her new daughter, Dannielynn. The developer, however, told reporters that he’s certain he is not the father. He also said he and his family had also provided money for expenses such as security, maid service and utilities. "She doesn’t have a penny in that house," Thompson said. Smith has publicly identified Dannielynn’s father as her attorney and confidant, Howard K. Stern. But photographer Larry Birkhead claims he is the father and has filed a lawsuit demanding that Smith and the child come to California to establish paternity through DNA tests.

Did Anna Nicole Smith dye Dannielynn’s hair? |

Does she or doesn’t she? An attorney thinks TV reality star Anna Nicole Smith, who usually sports platinum blonde hair, may have dyed her infant daughter’s locks to make it appear the father is Smith’s companion, Howard K. Stern. Smith’s ex-boyfriend Larry Birkhead, who claims he is the father, saw the child with dark hair in leaked snippets of an Entertainment Tonight interview of Smith, his attorney Debra Opri said Monday. "It’s horrendous," Opri said. "We are calling our experts right now to see if dyeing an infant’s hair is any way toxic or harmful to a child." Birkhead frosts the tips of his sandy blonde hair. Stern appears to have naturally black hair. Smith’s attorney Ron Rule said the allegations of hair-dyeing were ridiculous. Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern, almost 2 months old, is the subject of two paternity lawsuits — one filed in California and the other in the Bahamas, where Smith and Stern currently live. Birkhead initially filed a lawsuit demanding Smith and the child come to California to establish paternity through DNA tests. A hearing is set for Nov. 8. A second lawsuit was filed by Birkhead last week in the Bahamas alleging Smith and Stern committed fraud and conspiracy. Smith’s daughter was born Sept. 7. Three days later, Smith’s 20-year-old son, Daniel, died while visiting her in a Nassau hospital. The results of official toxicology tests and a police investigation into his death have not been released. In Nassau, Smith was hospitalized with pneumonia at the same medical center where her son died under mysterious circumstances in September, a lawyer for Smith said Tuesday. Smith was being treated at Doctors Hospital in Nassau, attorney Wayne Munroe said. "She has a slight case of pneumonia," Munroe told The Associated Press. "We’ve had a sudden change of weather here due to a cold snap."
