Adam Sandler scored a hole-in-one in 1996 when he released the golf comedy Happy Gilmore. Since then, fans have been sad because they have anxiously been waiting for a sequel. But we have not gotten one.
And now fans can be happy again because https://about.netflix.com/en/news/netflix-upfront-2024-the-year-of-growth-and-momentumannounced today that the actor is finally ready to pick up the golf club again. But first, he has to pick up the pen and write the script. However, we are getting it.
And that is all anyone but Sandler knows about Happy Gilmore 2.
Well, we know one more thing. Sadly, we won’t be getting any cameos from Bob Barker, Carl Weathers, Francis Bey, Joe Flaherty, and Richard Kiel. That is because the sequel has taken so long to be made that they have gone to the great fairway in the sky.
UPDATE: Shooter McGavin reacts to the sequel, “Hey
@AdamSandler, best of luck in the sequel. You’re going to need it. There won’t be no miracle putt to save you this time. You know it, I know it, the whole world knows. I’m winning the gold jacket this time and there’s nothing you can do about it. See you on the tee box.”
Before Adam Sandler went on 50 First Date with Drew Barrymore, he went on a first date with his neighbor and paid for it with MasterCard. How cute was the 23-year-old in that 1990 commercial?
Adam Sandler was in Milwaukee for a show this weekend. And if you are in Milwaukee, what are you going to do? You are going to see the bronze statue of The Fonz!
And that is what The Waterboy did. However, he was surprised to find out that Coach Klein had nothing to say to him. In fact, he didn’t say anything at all.
Adam Sandler found out that Coach Klein wrote a book, so he couldn’t wait to read it. Because he can read! And when he did, he found out that Coach Klein is also The Fonz. Imagine how shocking that is for The Waterboy?
It’s almost as shocking to find out that both Coach Klein and The Fonz are also Henry Winkler. Mind blown.
To find out what else we will learn from Winkler, you can read his book Being Henry: The Fonz . . . and Beyond starting this Tuesday.
Adam Sandler has made a lot of films, and some of them have even included cameos by his daughters, Sadie and Sunny. In his latest movie, You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah; he promoted his girls to lead roles.
Lifelong best friends Stacy (Sunny Sandler) and Lydia (Samantha Lorraine) have long dreamt of epic bat mitzvahs but when popular boy Andy Goldfarb (Dylan Hoffman) and Hebrew school drama come between them, their perfect plans go comically awry.
Sandler’s wife, Jackie, is also in the film. However, she doesn’t play his wife like his daughters play his daughters. Instead, Idina Menzel has that role. Make sense?
The Sandler family debuts on Netflix on August 25th.
