Bruce Springsteen has been on his own for a while, but now he is taking it back to the street again. As in, he is reuniting with the E. Street Band for his new album that is out next month. That’s right, Letter to You comes out on October 23rd. The Boss’ 20th record includes twelve tracks, nine that were recently written by him, and three throwbacks the ’70s.
Springsteen recorded the album in his home studio with his friends. “I love the emotional nature of Letter To You,” says Bruce. “And I love the sound of the E Street Band playing completely live in the studio, in a way we’ve never done before, and with no overdubs. We made the album in only five days, and it turned out to be one of the greatest recording experiences I’ve ever had.”
I have a feeling his fans will feel the same way if the first single off of the CD is any clue how the rest of it is going to sound. To me, it sounds like a throwback to his Born in the USA album. One of the greatest records of the ’80s. It is Springsteen, do you expect any less but rockin’ tunes?
