Bobby Brown is seeking comfort from hip-hop temptress Karrine Steffans, now that Whitney Houston wants him out of her life. Word is Brown has been staying at the Beverly Hills home of Steffans – and that she was with Brown in L.A. on Tuesday when Houston’s process server slapped him with divorce papers. "It’s not like Bobby didn’t see this coming," says a buddy who’s talked with Brown. "He and Whitney hadn’t been living together for months. But it was a blow. He said, ‘Let’s get some beers. I need to gather my senses.’" Steffans refuses to talk about the split. "It’s not my place to speak about their marriage," says the author of the best-selling "Confessions of a Video Vixen." "It’s not a happy time." Steffans, famed for the pleasure she has given some of the biggest stars of music and sports, insisted, "I’m not a home-wrecker. I got dragged into this." "I can’t break up a 16-year marriage in a few months," said the woman once known as "Superhead." "I’m not that super." Friends vouch that there’s really not much romance between the upwardly mobile Steffans and the downwardly mobile Brown. After Houston cut the "My Prerogative" singer loose, he needed a place to crash in L.A. Steffans’ new mountaintop manse fit the bill. She even paid for his cell phone. Meanwhile, being branded Bobby’s "other woman" has its uses. The press-savvy vixen, who’s working on her second book, is being courted by producers for "Extra" and Howard Stern. She’s also hearing more often from her on-and-off boyfriend Bill Maher. "Bill and I have discussed Bobby," she laughed. "But Bobby is not an issue in my relationship. I still love Bill. He’s the love of my life. I know you’ll see us back together."

I wonder if he really was with her when he was served?
