[ # ] Walmart recruits The Muppets for a Christmas campaign
October 26th, 2026 under Sesame Street/Muppets

Even though Christmas is two months away, retail is getting into the holiday spirit. Today, Walmart launched their campaign for the season, and we have seen it before…sort of.

The big-box store asked The Muppets to recreate 1992’s The Muppet Christmas Carol, with Walter Goggins replacing Michael Caine as Ebenezer Scrooge. He was joined by Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, The Great Gonzo, Rizzo the Rat, and Pepé the King Prawn, who sang a new song written for the retail store.

“‘A Who Knew Carol’ brings Walmart’s holiday campaign to life in a way that’s playful, memorable, and full of unexpected surprises all season long,” said William White, chief marketing officer. “By pairing the enduring charm of The Muppets with Walton Goggins’ humor, we’re showing that Walmart can surprise customers with the brands, gifts, deals and convenience they need to make the season even more joyful.”

This is just the first chapter for the campaign, so get ready for more bah humbug!
