I don’t watch The Daily Show because I hate politics. However, I do watch some of the videos that they put on YouTube. Because of that, Josh Johnson has become my favorite correspondent, along with Jordan Klepper. And I am not alone.
Today, Comedy Central revealed that he will be joining Klepper and Ronny Chieng as one of the newscast’s anchors. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he will be anchoring this Tuesday through Thursday.
“It’s my first time hosting anything on TV. Ever,” Johnson wrote. “I’ve spent years writing behind the scenes, learning from truly great and talented people. Now, for three nights, I get to sit at the desk and do it myself.”
Johnson joined the series as a writer in 2017 and became a correspondent seven years later. It only took him a year and a half to be upped to the anchor chair, and it is well deserved.
