Drew Carey says that Phish at the Sphere was orgasmic!
April 24th, 2024 under The Price is Right, Thomas Lennon, Weird Al Yankovic. [ Comments: none ]

Drew Carey went to see Phish for the first time this weekend, and he saw them at the Sphere in Vegas. You know, that concert venue which has mind-blowing visuals all over its walls as the musicians are performing?

The Price Is Right host enjoyed it so much he wrote in a tweet it was like a religious experience. He could’ve left it there, and we all understood what he meant.

However… Yesterday, he was on @fter Midnight and Taylor Tomlinson made a huge mistake. She asked him, “If you weren’t being filmed right now, what would you say?”

With that, he walked in front of the podium to the center of the stage and described what it was like to experience his new favorite band.

“So, I saw Phish at the Sphere this weekend, Never saw Phish, didn’t know a Phish tune, and they fucking blew my mind off so hard.

“I had a bunch of girls with me, and I thought to myself, is this what it’s like to [he was bleeped].

“People there can verify. This is 100% true. This is what it was like. It was like being edged for four days straight. And then right before the face-melting climax at the end of the fourth day, an angel comes down from heaven, Gabriel, and he shoots fucking heroin in your arm, and he says, ‘Good luck now, Mother Fucker!’ And he leaves, and you have an orgasm for 15 minutes while your eyeballs fall out of your head!

“Next time, they play the Sphere. You better not miss it.”

And with that, Sphere’s booking people called Phish’s managers and are trying to book them for another residency. And when they do, I will break my “I will never go back to Las Vegas rule” to see them.

Seriously, that is the best review that anyone can ask for.

Now, back to @fter Midnight. The rest of the show was Thomas Lennon and Weird Al Yankovic making jokes about Phish at the Sphere, and it was beautiful.

Tomlinson should’ve said to the Whose Line Is It Anyway, “Whose show is it anyway? Your show airs 12 hours earlier on this network. This is my show. Mother Fucker!”

And Drew had another brilliant moment in the episode, unrelated to Phish. Tomlinson asked Carey, “Which one of your projects embarrasses you the most?” Without hesitation, he told her, “This one!”

Have you ever wished Oreo and Sour Patch Kids teamed up for a cookie?
April 24th, 2024 under Junk Food. [ Comments: none ]

Are you a fan of Golden Oreo Cookies? How about Sour Patch Kids? Have you ever imagined the two merging into a single, unique cookie? If so, I have some exciting news for you!

The Sour Patch Kids Oreo Cookies are available to preorder now, and they will be in stores for a limited time starting on May 6th.

It might look like a golden cookie on the outside, but it tastes like a Sour Patch Kids. The creme inside is filled with even more multi-colored sour sugar inclusions, creating a sweet yet sour taste.

“The OREO brand is always looking for playful ways to excite our fans. What better and more unexpected way to do that than letting SOUR PATCH KIDS playfully takeover our cookie?!” said Caroline Suppiger, OREO Senior Associate Brand Manager. “The opportunity to partner with our friends at the OREO brand to create a mischievous twist on a classic cookie was one we just couldn’t pass up. We are both so excited to see the fan reaction to this sour-then-sweet limited-edition cookie,” added Grace Howard, SOUR PATCH KIDS Innovation Brand Manager.

This does not sound like my cup of tea. But it might to others. I just hope it tastes better than when Oreo teamed up with Swedish Fish.

ID takes on Nick and Aaron Carter
April 24th, 2024 under Backstreet Boys /Aaron Carter, DIscovery Networks/Discovery+. [ Comments: none ]

Investigation Discovery had a massive hit with Quiet on Set, a look into some of the dark things that happened on some of the Nickelodeon series. Now, they are moving on to a new topic.

On May 27th, they will go deep into Nick and Aaron Carter’s alleged controversies in a 4-part, 2-night event.

In 2017, Nick Carter was accused of sexual assault by singer and actress
Melissa Schuman, former member of a popular girl group Dream while Nick Carter and Backstreet Boys were at the height of their fame. In the years following Schuman’s decision to come forward, additional accusers, Ashley Repp and Shay Ruth, spoke out with similar accusations. During this period, Aaron Carter decided to support Nick’s accusers, while battling addiction and struggling with his own mental health, stoking a very public feud between the two brothers in the lead up to Aaron’s tragic death in 2022. FALLEN IDOLS: NICK AND AARON CARTER delves into the accusations against Nick and how those intertwined with the volatile relationship between the two brothers.

The special will have interviews with the three women who accused Nick of rape, his ex-girlfriend Kaya Jones, and Aaron’s fianceé at the time of his death, Melanie Martin.

I have known about this doc for a year because they asked someone I know to be in it. That person turned them down, so I am curious what they did with it and if they were right to turn this down.

The sad thing is that since they started this documentary, Nick lost another sibling allegedly to substance abuse.

Stewart Copeland says recording the last 2 Police albums was ‘Hell on Earth’
April 24th, 2024 under The Police. [ Comments: none ]

The Police recorded five studio albums, and Stewart Copeland says they weren’t all heavenly to record.

It is no secret that Copeland, Sting, and Andy Summers did not get along towards the end of The Police’s run. And now the drummer is detailing how bad things were to record their last two albums Ghost in the Machine and Synchronicity.

Even though they were recording their fourth album in paradise, he says, “It was Hell on Earth.”

It was just the three of them in the room. They might be legends outside of those four walls, but inside, they were just pieces of shit to the other two.

This continued through the recording of their final album. So, does Stweart regret it? “We look back on the result of this strife, the struggle, and we appreciate that struggle is what gave the band its energy, its snap, its zing, its fire. It was that dichotomy,” he said. “By now, we had grown apart musically.”

They might’ve been three different musicians who hated each other in one band, but they loved the music they created.

And when you think about it, it explains the really dark songs, like One World (Not Three), Synchronicity II, King of Pain, and Wrapped Around Your Finger.

Things might have been ugly between them, but they sure did create beautiful music.

And this is why I will always prefer Summers songs over Sting’s. Imagine all the great songs The Police could’ve recorded if Sting wasn’t such a goddamn fucking asshole bastard.
