Joel McHale is getting ready to host House of Villains again!
January 17th, 2024 under E!, Joel McHale. [ Comments: none ]

House of Villains was my favorite new reality show of last year, and I didn’t watch most of the Reality Shows that those contestants terrified. Therefore, I have been patiently waiting to find out if it will be back for a second season.

I am not the only one who was wondering, so Entertainment Weekly asked host Joel McHale about the show’s future at the Emmys on Monday. McHale told Patrick Gomez, “We are! We’re shooting it in February.”

However, he doesn’t know which Reality Villains are moving into the mansion. Plus, how does E! top Omarosa, New York, Johnny Bananas, Bobby Lites, and Johnny Fairplay? Even the actor doesn’t think you can do that. So, he has a suggestion for the producers, “I say take the same cast and just have them continue to compete.” I’d be open to that!

If you missed House of Villains, a competition show that pits Reality TV’s biggest villains against one another for a $200,000 prize, then you can watch it on the E! app now.

It’s a Wonderful Knife is Horror’s take on It’s a Wonderful Life
October 5th, 2023 under Joel McHale, Movies. [ Comments: none ]

Every year, we get a different take of either A Christmas Carol or It’s a Wonderful Life. This year, we are getting a new version of the latter, and it is getting the Horror treatment.

A year after saving her town from a psychotic killer on Christmas Eve, Winnie Carruthers’ (Jane Widdop) life is less than wonderful — but when she wishes she’d never been born, she finds herself in a nightmare parallel universe and discovers that without her, things could be much, much worse. Now the killer is back, and she must team up with the town misfit to identify the killer and get back to her own reality.

It’s A Wonderful Knife also stars Joel McHale and Justin Long.

Christmas just got a new Horriday classic, and I can’t wait to watch every kill on November 10th.

How far would your hometown go for a Klondike bar?
June 23rd, 2023 under Joel McHale, Junk Food. [ Comments: none ]

Have you ever wanted to see your hometown on a Klondike bar? Well, how far will you go to make that happen? Klondike and Joel McHale want to find out. So they are offering you a challenge to find out.

All you have to do is get at least three other people from your family, friends, or neighbors, take a creative photo or video showing the lengths y’all would go, and then post it to Instagram with #WWYDHometownContest and tag @KlondikeBar to enter. Oh, and make sure to find a way to incorporate something from Klondike’s brand identity, like the What Would You Do jingle, Klondike’s ice cream products, their brand colors, the polar bear mascot, or whatever you think represents them.

“You know what Klondike and I have in common? We’re both challengers at heart and we both love to celebrate fun, spontaneous acts of silliness,” said Joel McHale. “So, when Klondike told me they were challenging hometowns to prove who’s #1,” he continued, “I couldn’t wait to get involved and am excited to see what people all over the country will do for a Klondike. I’ve been a longtime fan of the brand and now, I get to judge the Klondike Hometown Contest! How sweet is that?!”

That’s right, he and people from Klondike are going to judge the submissions.

So what does the one winner get? They will get a personalized shoutout video from McHale for their hometown, an exclusive block party and their hometown will be featured on the packaging of a limited edition Klondike Bar. Pretty sweet deal. As sweet as their ice cream creations.

If you have what it takes, don’t wait too long to enter. They are accepting submissions until July 16th.

Joel McHale needs a show demonstrating products
June 1st, 2023 under Joel McHale. [ Comments: none ]

Joel McHale’s show Crime Scene Kitchen is back on Fox, and today he promoted it on the fourth hour of Today. Not only was he a guest, but he was also Hoda Kotb’s co-host for the day.

Part of being a co-host means that he got to try out beauty products with Amy Desai. Even though the segment was called Beauty on the Go, he thought it was a cooking segment and tasted some of the products.

Seriously that was the best talk show demonstration segment I have ever seen. So if the TV execs are watching, in between their freakouts that nothing is getting written because of the WGA strike, I hope they give him a show where he gets to try out the latest products that everyone, but him, is going to want because of the way he sells it.

However, the show cannot compromise his time on the highlarious Fox sitcom Animal Control. If you missed the series about an animal control department in Seattle, Fox is reairing it this summer.

After you watch that, you can check Jane Krakowski on Apple TV+ Schmigadoon! Why am I bringing that up out of the blue? Because she was a guest on Today’s fourth hour today too. To see her hysterical interview with McHale and Kotb, then click here!

Fox is still out of control with Animal Control
May 10th, 2023 under Fox, Joel McHale. [ Comments: none ]

Last week, Fox cancelled Call Me Kat. And today, the network announced that they are still calling Animal Control. The hilarious sitcom stars animals of all types, Joel McHale, Michael Rowland, Vella Lovell, Ravi Patel, and Grace Palmer.

And did I say a variety of animals that change up every week? That is because the show is about an animal control office in Seattle that rescues exotic animals and domesticated pets.

“We are thrilled our viewers have responded to Animal Control as much as we did,” said Michael Thorn, President of Scripted Programming, FOX Entertainment. “The incredibly talented ensemble cast, led by Joel McHale, along with our creative team, Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg, Dan Sterling and Tad Quill – not to mention a menagerie of wild animal method actors — have delivered a hilarious series that is sharp, witty, and warm, week after week.”

And Thorn isn’t lying! Animal Control is one of the few live-action comedies on Fox. But it feels animated because of the hijinx they get into during every call. That is what keeps me tuning it.

Well, not only the laughs but also the heart. Because not only are they co-workers, but they are also a work family who are always there for each other during the good and bad times. And they have more bad times than good. That is what makes comedies so funny.
