Paul Reiser reveals Mad About You won’t be back for another season…for now
January 13th, 2021 under Paul Reiser. [ Comments: none ]

Back in 2019, Spectrum picked up and aired a Mad About You revival. Since then, we have been waiting to find out if it would get a second season. Today, Paul Reiser finally answered that question.

“That’s it for now…,” Reiser said. “Hope you’re enjoying these. we’re all quite proud of how they came out.”

Are you sad we only got one more for the time being, or are you grateful that we got at least one?

Could Mad About You be around for a second season?
January 2nd, 2020 under Paul Reiser. [ Comments: none ]

Mad About You just finished its first season of its second go around and Extra’s Cheslie Kryst wanted to know if we could get a second season Spectrum. Paul Reiser told her, “Sure, I am open for it if people out there have a hankering for it.” Then he added, “It was a great experience.”

Not only was it a great experience for him, but it was also one for us fans. Even though 20 years passed between the show’s run, it felt like no time passed. They did a good job keeping the feel of the original, but giving it a modern-day feel?

If you missed the 12 episodes on Spectrum now. I highly recommend it because they are an enjoyable dozen eps you can binge in 6 hours.

Are Jamie and Paul in trouble on Mad About You?
December 18th, 2019 under Helen Hunt, Paul Reiser, Spectrum. [ Comments: none ]

The second half of Mad About You’s first season of the revival debuted on Spectrum today, and it feels like it did when it originally aired.

Jamie (Helen Hunt) and Paul (Paul Reiser) are having a hard time dealing with Mabel (Abby Quinn) moving out. So much so, it is causing problems in their marriage. They go for counseling, and she tells them their marriage is over. Is it?

They are not the only ones having trouble; Mabel is getting into trouble in school. In fact, NYU has had it with her, and they kick her out. What will she do now that she is no longer a student?

Maybe she can housesit celebrity homes like her aunt Lisa (Anne Ramsay). Although she might be out of work soon because the celebs find out she has been wearing their clothes.

Those crazy Buchmans can’t stop getting in trouble. Even the dog finds away to do it.

Do you know what is not in trouble? The sitcom. Even though it is supposed to be a limited run, it feels like it could go for a few more seasons.

BTWF: Paul Reiser in Diner
November 20th, 2019 under Before They Were Famous, Paul Reiser. [ Comments: none ]

Before we were mad about Paul Reiser on Mad About You, his friend was mad at him over a roast beef sandwich in Diner. He looks the same now as he did when he was 24 in that 1982 movie.

You will still be mad about Mad About You
November 20th, 2019 under Helen Hunt, Paul Reiser, Spectrum. [ Comments: none ]

Back in 1992, we got to know Paul (Paul Reiser) and Jamie Buckman (Helen Hunt), two New York newlyweds, trying to make their marriage work. In 1999, we said goodbye to the new parents. Or so we thought.

Twenty years later, they are saying goodbye to their daughter Mabel, who is going to college. Starting today, you can watch the 12-episode event on Spectrum TV as the Buckmans adjust to being empty nesters.

The revival starts off with Paul and Jamie getting their only child ready to leave for college. Sadly for Mable, she chose to go to school in Manhattan, so her parents will stop by all the time unannounced. Which, of course, she will not like. There will be growing pains for their parents, they will learn to adjust.

They are not the only ones adjusting, several of the original cast members are back and their lives are different too. Jamie’s sister is still single and Lisa (Anne Ramsay) has a really cool job. Ira (John Pankow) has a woman in his life and they run a restaurant together. Mark (Richard Kind) and Fran have gone their different ways and he is married to someone new.

Like real life, their lives changed over the last two decades. What hasn’t changed is the feel of the show. Like Will & Grace, it feels like no time has passed since the first run and this one. If you are a fan of the original, then you are going to love this update. I know I am loving it after watching the first six episodes.
