The Goldbergs had their first table read for the 5th season yesterday and executive producer Adam Goldberg, who life the sitcom is loosely based on, revealed that they have a very special guest star on the season premiere. He said, “You are looking at the one and only [Bill] @Goldberg getting laughs like a true champ. My pal @UncleLouie said he’s funny as hell and he’s right!” No word if the two Goldbergs are related, but they will be after this episode.
Wendi McLendon-Covey, who plays Adam’s smother, had this to say about the ep that airs on September 27th, “Today’s table read – #billgoldberg next to @bryancallen reading one of the funniest episodes ever! @TheGoldbergsABC #TheGoldbergs #muscles #musclecars #wwe.” That says a lot coming from her since almost all of the episodes are the funniest ones ever.
Also revealed yesterday is that the sitcom is going to bunches of more laughs when Ron Funches joins the ABC show in the third episode for a few. No word who he will playing, and I cannot even fathom what his part will be. What do you think he will be playing?
Oh and did I mention that 503 will be directed by David Katzenberg? The Goldbergs is off the great start for its 5th season.
I was just thinking before The Goldbergs aired the critics hated this show. As time went on they began to love it as much as the fans like me. Which is why it is one of the top rated comedies on television and beginning its run in syndication next month. Here is to 5 more years and counting.

DC Comics tried their hand at comedy with Powerless, but yesterday the sitcom got some bad news. The show’s Executive Producer Patrick Schumaker Tweeted, “#Powerless will not air this week or next. This, I know for sure. I can guess some other things but they’re not good. Thanks for watching.”
I don’t know why fans of Superheroes weren’t watching because I just adored this show. Hudgens was perfect for the role as the always positive Emily. Then there’s Ron Funches who is lovable in everything he does. I think NBC is making a mistake by not airing the remaining three episodes. I also think the show was never right for their network, it needed to be some place that was a little more quirky. I can’t think what channel that would be, but that is where it really belong.
We have seen some pretty epic Mannequin Challenges, and now stars like John Stamos and Ron Funches are taking it to a whole new level. They both posed with some real mannequins. Which one did it better? The stiff or the dummy? I say it is a tie.
BTW let’s talk about how skinny Bunches of Funches looks next to the test dummies. That 130lbs weight loss is really showing and he looks fantastic. Then again I like him no matter what the scale tells him.
Ron Funches is starring with Justin Timberlake in Trolls and yet he didn’t meet the singer until they shot the video for Can’t Stop the Feeling. Bunches of Funches described what that was like, “I got to go to his studio. I got to meet him. He smells so good.” The TBS host wanted to know how good. The Undateable star told him, “Money! Money and confidence.”
I don’t what that smells like, but I would love to get a whiff of it. I wonder if the *NSYNC singer wears his own cologne. If not, then someone needs to bottle up that essence so it can bring sexy back into relationships.
Now when it comes to Funches, his laugh could bring peace to the world. We should have it blasting out of speakers all over the world, so everyone can giggle along with him. Seriously, don’t you smile every time he does his sweet little chuckle? I know I do! It is so addictive.
Undateable is one of the smartest comedies on television, but how smart is the cast? Tonight at 10p, Rick Glassman, David Fynn, Ron Funches and Brent Morin test out their smarts on GSN’s Idiotest.
The four comedians will try their best to answer the clues that are given to them, while the host Ben Gleib tries to maintain control of his game show. Who has the harder task? The host obviously because these four funny men have a hard time trying to determine the obvious from the answer in questions like what in the picture has a 5 o’clock shadow or a which is the smallest hole they can get the pictured balloon through. The latter one leads to a hysterical joke from Gleib, thus helping them realize that this is his show and he’s the boss.
Why are stars of Undateable putting themselves through this Idiotest? It’s all for a good cause, the winning team will get to donate $10,000 to the charity of their choice. Glassman and Fynn are playing for the Red Cross and PATH: People Assisting the Homeless, and Funches and Morin are playing for Autism Speaks and Boys and Girls Club. Both teams and their charities are winners, just one is a bigger winner.
Tonight’s episode of Idiotest makes you use your brain two ways. The first is testing your wits as you try to guess which item in a photo answers the given question. Not everything is at it appears, so you really have to focus to determine the correct answer. The second one is allowing yourself to laugh for a half hour straight because that is what these 5 men accomplished. So be prepared for your brain and cheeks to hurt for a long time afterwards, and it is one of the few times where I say pain is a good thing.
Tune in Idiotest tonight to watch the cast of Undateable try to prove that they are not idiots and then keep tuning in every Tuesday at 10p to see everyday citizens to do the same thing. Plus, it is fun to use your brain in different way than it is used normally. It’s a muscle that needs this type of workout.
