Has Connie Britton sung her Nashville swan song?
August 24th, 2016 under CMT. [ Comments: none ]

Back in May, ABC cancelled Nashville, and a few months later CMT picked it up for another season. As soon as they made that announcement, many people wondered if both Hayden Panettiere and Connie Britton would continue on with the show. Today, we got our answer.
Entertainment Weekly says that the Friday Night Lights’ star only signed on for 10 episodes and is looking to exit after the last one.
There have been many rumors that she has not been happy with the show for a while and I think it shows. I say good riddance. Not only because you can tell she is phoning it in but also because her character doesn’t add anything to it. She always plays the victim. My girls don’t love me, my record label is failing, Deacon is always causing problems and so on. No matter what story they give her, she plays it the same way.
I know a lot of people think she is the greatest actress, I think she is a one note wonder. Will you miss her if she leaves the show?

Who was dropped from Nashville?
June 22nd, 2016 under CMT. [ Comments: none ]

Nashville is switching from ABC to CMT and that means they don’t have as much as money as they used to. Which means, not everyone will be back because they can’t afford them.
Today TVLine found out two of the regulars have been dropped from the show. They are Will Chase, who plays Luke Wheeler, and Aubrey Peeples, who plays Layla Grant. Just when the two of them of were finally getting some juicy storylines. They were fun. I can think of three blonde females under 30 who should’ve been released from the show before them.
How do you feel about Chase and Peeples not coming back? Who else would you like to see leave the show?

Still the King is a hunka hunka burning love!
June 12th, 2016 under Billy Ray Cyrus, CMT. [ Comments: none ]

Still the King debuts on CMT tonight at 9p and it is funny look at the life of a one hit wonder years after his song came out.
Vernon Brownmule (Billy Ray Cyrus) had a big hit 20 years ago and he’s still living that wacky Rock star lifestyle. Only problem is that he doesn’t have the money and most people don’t remember who he is. Even though, he isn’t any where near as famous, he still acts like he is. So much so, he gets drunk one night, crashes his car in to a Church’s sign and finds himself in jail.
When he finally gets out, he is put on probation and can’t leave Tennessee. Not only can’t he leave, he finds out that he owes 15 years of back child support to a daughter he never knew he had. To make matters worse, he has to do community service at the Church he damaged.
The Church has a new minister starting there, but the Congregation has never met him. When Vernon finds out how much they make, he pretends to be that Minister. He then recruits his former band member’s son Walt (Travis Nicholson) to be his right hand man and help get him out of trouble. Which will be most of the time. Each week, it gets crazier and crazier and funnier to watch him try to save his butt again.
What is Vernon doing with the money he is earning from the Congregation? He is using it to pay his back child support so he can get to know his daughter (Madison Iseman) and reconnect with her mother (Joey Lauren Adams). Neither woman wants anything to do with him.
Will that change? Will he change? We will just have to watch this hilarious show each week to find out.
If you are like me and love shows that depict the Rock star lifestyle as wild as you imagine it to be, then you are going to love this show as much as I do.
Almost as much as you love Vernon. Cyrus plays him so horribly and yet so lovable, you can’t help but to love him and the show.

Yee haw, CMT saves Nashville!
June 10th, 2016 under CMT. [ Comments: none ]

A few weeks ago, ABC announced that they were not bringing back Nashville back for a 5th season and the die hard fans of the show were very upset. They took the internet and begged anyone and everyone to save the show! Well their pleas were finally answered because CMT and Hulu announced they saved the Country Music Nighttime Soap.
Brian Philips, President of CMT said, “CMT heard the fans. The wave of love and appreciation they have unleashed for ‘Nashville’ has been overwhelming,” adding, “We see our fans and ourselves in this show and we will treasure it like no other network. Nashville belongs on CMT.”
I honestly think that the show is going to be so much better on CMT. They know Country Music and they definitely know Nashville better than ABC ever could. They will make this show as great as it was during its first two seasons. I, for one, am beyond excited to see this show carry on, on a network that will truly appreciate it.
No word when and, more importantly, who will be back. The season ended with Juliette’s (Hayden Panettiere) plane in trouble, so this could be the out they need to get rid of her expensive paycheck. But then again, she is the best part about that show, so you don’t want to lose her like you do a few of the other blonde haired females.
Heck, who cares about all of that today, let’s just be happy that the show is coming back!

Erik Estrada beats up Billy Ray Cyrus!
April 26th, 2016 under Armed & Famous, Billy Ray Cyrus, CMT, VH1/MTV. [ Comments: none ]

Have you been wanting to see someone beat up Billy Ray Cyrus since you heard Achy Breaky Heart for the 1 millionth time? Well, you will finally see someone give him the take down of a lifetime and that person is CHiPs Erik Estrada. Plus, it is better than you could’ve ever dreamed of.
When you will see the thing of beauty? Sometime after Miley Cyrus’ dad’s show Still the King debuts on CMT June 12th.
In all seriousness, Still the King looks so wacky, fun and outrageous that I can’t wait to see it. It looks like such a hootenanny, you might forget how much you hate his one hit wonder.
Actually, I feel bad about being mean to Billy Ray because I really like him and that song, and I am sincerely looking forward to this zany show!
