Put on your Boogie shoes because NBC has a new dancing competition debuting tonight at 10p. Dancing with Myself has 12 amateur dancers competing to be the best dancer of the night.
The show was created by Shakira, and she is joined at the judges’ table by Nick Jonas and Liza Koshy. However, most of the judging is done by the studio audience.
How? Each of the contestants is in their own pod, and they cannot see what the other one is doing. For the first round, they are given a dance to do by Shakira, and they have to impress the studio audience and the judges. When all 12 of them have danced, it is time for the audience to vote on their favorites. When their vote is submitted, then the judges can save some of the eliminated contestants to move on to the next round.
These contestants range from high school age to their 50s. They are flight attendants, professional swimmers, and plus-size models. They are just like us who are watching from home.
One-by-one they compete in five other dance battles, which include a freestyle dance battle, a dance choreographed by a celebrity, one with a surprise element, and finally, one that they created by themselves. At the end of the night, only one person brings home the $25,000. Not bad for a day’s worth of dancing.
When it comes to the viewers at home, be prepared for one of the fastest-paced shows you have ever seen. Seriously, it moved so fast, I had to watch it a second time because I had no idea what just happened. They jam-packed a two-hour show into one, and it is amazing. You won’t be bored because you don’t have time to be.
This show is not about the judges, it is about the dancing, and that is just the way I like it.
It is about damn time that Joe Jonas reunited with his DNCE bandmates, Jack Lawless and JinJoo Lee. So to celebrate the three of them DNCEd to Lizzo’s song About Damn Time.
I don’t know if the best part was Joe shaking his tushie or Lawless being motionless. I say it is a tie and they both win a cake in the ocean. And now that song is stuck in my head again. And it was about damn time that I got it unstuck. And now I am hearing both songs in my head. Send help or another earworm.
We know what Nick and Joe Jonas are up to all the time, but what about their brothers, Kevin and Frankie, aka Bonus Jonas. Well, I got an update for you.
The oldest and the youngest Jonas brothers are doing a reality show for ABC. Claim to Fame is described as “12 celebrity relatives will be challenged as they have to hide their identity from each other!”
During the competition, the 12 of them will have to try to guess who each of the roommates are related to. Yes, I said roommates because they will be living with each other during the competition.
When it is over, one person will go home $100,000 richer, and can buy their famous relative a present worthy of their success.
If I were ABC, I would keep the all of the contestants’ identies a secret from the viewers and let us guess who their blood is. Let us play at home too.
Joe Jonas played some audio where a man says that there are women who like to watch documentaries about serial killers and sleep with true crime shows. His wife, Sophie Turner, was in the background listening to the narration with a huge smile on her face.
If I were him, I would be afraid, very afraid. Because, I am sure, the actress learned a thing or two about how to murder someone from Game of Thrones.
So, if something ever happens to him, look at Turner because it is always the spouse in those true crime shows about marriages.
