Tonight’s Galavant will leave you verklempt
January 11th, 2015 under Galavant. [ Comments: none ]

Galavant is back with two new episodes tonight at 8p on ABC and they are something to sing along with.
In the first episode, Galvant (Joshua Sasses) and Princess Isabella (Karen David) go to Sid’s (Luke Youngbood) hometown with him. When they get there, they find out that he has been lying about who he really is and they decide to play along with him. Galavant is his Squire and Princess Isabella is his fiancee. Will Sid tell his parents the truth or will his lies catch up with him? Oy!
Meanwhile back at King Richard’s Kingdom, he decides to have some fun with his people and do some plays with them. The thing he likes most is having his Servants kick the Unique in the groin. Tell me what is funnier than watching a guy getting kicked in the royals jewels over and over and over again? That is until he reveals something that will get the King very very very mad at him…
That sets up for the second episode where King Richard asks the Jester to teach him how to tell jokes. Let’s just say there are a lot of things that Timothy Omundson can do a lot things and being a comedian isn’t one of them. Although, he isn’t that bad.
While the King is telling jokes, things are a lot more serious for Galavant, Sid and the Princess. You see are three buddies, are getting sick of each other. They can’t stand being around each other and they still have a long way to go until they reach the Kingdom. Just when they can’t stand each other anymore, they get held captive by some Pirates. Will they be able to work together long enough to get themselves out of this mess or will they be thrown overboard?
Tune in to find out, but better yet, tune in for the best Jewish song and dance number since Raising Hope. Actually, it is even better than that one, but since that is the only other Jewish song and dance number to have been on television show, it was the only one I could reference. Seriously, there are six great songs during tonight’s one hour event and you don’t want to miss a single one. More importantly, you don’t want to miss several people playing kick ball with a man’s balls!

Hey Galavant’s Joshua Sasse, what a big sword you have!
January 7th, 2015 under Galavant, In Your Pocket?. [ Comments: none ]

Joshua Sasse was on Good Morning America today, and he got to play with a sword that was made for him. After watching the second episode of Galavant and seeing him topless, I am picturing that sword as something else. I mean, if you play a hero that they write songs about, then you better have a sword that the women would swoon over.
Just like people have been swooning over the musical comedy fairytale since its debut Sunday on ABC. If you missed the show that everyone has been singing about, then you can watch an encore of the first two episodes tonight at 10p on ABC.

BTWF roles: Timothy Omundson on Seinfeld
January 5th, 2015 under Before They Were Famous, Galavant, Psych, Timothy Omundson. [ Comments: none ]

Before Timothy Omundson was the ruler of his own Kingdom on Galavant, he was ruling nothing on Seinfeld. He looks the same now as he did when he was 23 in that 1992 episode.

Fall in deep love with Galavant tonight!!!
January 4th, 2015 under Galavant. [ Comments: none ]

This year, when I watched all of the new shows, I was sincerely impressed by how good they were. Then, I pressed play on the musical fairytale comedy Galavant and it made all of those other shows look average. You see, this show, that debuts on ABC tonight at 8p, is beyond amazing. It has everything you want and so much more. It is the type of show you will fall in love with from note one and never ever want to break up with. Even though, Madalena does that to poor Galavant, but I digress.
When I was a little girl, Little Shop of Horrors and Little Mermaid were some of my favorite musicals. So of course, when I heard that Alan Menken, the man who wrote the music for those musicals, was attached to Galavant, I couldn’t wait to see what he had done.
The first number will be stuck in your head and you will be singing it when the kids go to sleep. You see, this is a fairytale for us adults and not for them. It’s about time, we had one! And one that is so enjoyable like Galvant!
So what is the story behind this show? The heroic and much adored Galavant (Joshua Sasse) is in love with Madalena (Mallory Jansen), but she is kidnapped by King Richard (Timothy Omundson). Once she is in his clutches, he forces her to marry him. Galavant tries to win her back, but the bitch, I mean maiden, decides she likes the fame and fortune better than him and becomes King Richard’s Queen.
Months have passed and he is now heartbroken and a shell of the man he used to be. One day, his Squire Sid (Luke Youngblood) introduces him Princess Isabella Lucia Maria Elizabetta of Valencia (Karen David). King Richard and his Henchman, Gareth (Vinnie Jones), have seized her family and her land; and she wants Galavant to help her get her Kingdom back.
Now, the three of them begin their journey to destroy King Richard and get back the people they love most. Along the way, they will all have an adventure that is unlike anything you have ever seen on television.
Tonight at 8:30p on the second episode, Galavant, Sid and the Princess, need some extra money, so they enter our hero in a jousting competition. Galavant will face his arch-nemesis Jean Hamm (John Stamos) in a Joust that is something you have to see to believe. Plus, we get a love song that’s content is truly original.
Just like the show itself. It isn’t only the story and the music that make this musical fairytale comedy so whimsical; it is also the perfect casting and how loveable each one of them are on the series. Timothy Omundson, is probably the most known member of the cast because of Psych, and his role on this show is nothing like Lassie. Even though you should hate him, you can’t! Then there is the lead, Joshua Sasse, who has a voice of an angel and everything else to match. Luke Youngblood, has his own episode coming up next week where he goes home, and you will plotz when you see it. Wink wink. Karen David might be little, but she has a big beautiful voice. In episode 6, Sasse and her have a duet and their voices together is perfect harmony. Mallory Jansen is perfect as the evil Queen, you will easily hate her and that is a good thing.
Then there are the guest stars. John Stamos starts it off and this is the role he was born to play. It is unlike anything he has ever done before and it is his best work yet. Weird Al Yankovic appears on the show next week as a singing Monk. Need I say more. Then in episode 6, Ricky Gervais plays a wizard who has a trippy song number in it and you’ll be surprised by how well he can actually belt out a tune.
Finally, there is Darren Evans who plays the Chef. If you don’t fall in love with the instant you see him, then there is something seriously wrong with you. He is the cutest thing on television and you will be looking forward to every scene he is in. Wait until he finally gets a song and dance number in episode 5, you will just want to reach through the screen to hug and squeeze him.
There is so much to love, adore and admire about Galavant, so why not tune in for the best new show on television this year tonight at 8p for an hour for the next four Sundays. In fact, after watching 6 episodes, I think I will declare that is one of the best show ever!!!

If you can’t get Jon Hamm, you get a sexier John!
January 3rd, 2015 under Galavant, John Stamos. [ Comments: none ]

Tomorrow night at 8p, you will be singing the praises of Galavant from the rooftops. Before you can even come down off the rooftop after watching the series premiere, it is time for the second episode at 8:30p. This time, John Stamos guest stars on the show and plays a role he has never done before. A role you would think he was born to play, even though the character’s name is like that of another famous actor. Kristin Newman, writer for the musical fairytale comedy, explained on Twitter today, “So, we named a character Jean Hamm, hoping to cast Jon Hamm. We got John Stamos, but still named him Jean Hamm.” They might not have been able to get the mad men, but they got a man that drives all the women mad! Just wait until you see him as a Knight in Shining Armour! Seriously, I don’t know what they did to Uncle Jesse; but not only is this the best I have ever seen him act, it is also the best I’ve ever seen him look!
So make sure to tune in for the best new show of the season, I promise you will not be disappointed!
