Is there a Scrubs reunion in the works?
May 19th, 2017 under Bill Lawrence, Zach Braff. [ Comments: none ]

While it seems like almost every show we loved, that was cancelled too soon, is getting a reunion special, there is one we have been anxiously waiting for. That program is Scrubs.

The show’s creator Bill Lawrence teased us that one might be happening when he posted the above photo with his stars Zach Braff and Sarah Chalke and said, “Reunion show plans: all we have so far is that drinking tequila is fun. #Scrubs #MissJohnnyKenDonaldJudy.”

Why don’t they just get everyone together in an abandoned hospital (since the place where they shot the show was torn down), drink some Tequila and Improv the whole the whole thing. He is used to doing things by the seat of his pants thanks to Undateable. I am sure this cast could have a lot of fun with no script. Although, if they have too much fun, then maybe they are better off filming it in a mental institution? Now that would be totally cray cray.

But in all seriousness, I don’t know if the reunion show is in the works, but I am sure Netflix would be interested in it. After all, fans of the sitcom let them know they were upset when they were going to remove it from the streaming service. Plus, if it is on the Netflix they can do things they couldn’t do when they were on NBC and ABC. Just imagine what madness and hilarity would ensue.

BTWF role: Kal Penn on Spin City
March 8th, 2017 under Before They Were Famous, Bill Lawrence, Kal Penn. [ Comments: none ]

Before Kal Penn was partying in college with Van Wilder, he was doing that with Charlie Sheen on Spin City. He looks the same now as he did when he was 23 in that 2000 episode.

NBC breaks up with Undateable
May 13th, 2016 under Bill Lawrence, Fox, NBC. [ Comments: none ]

NBC had a great comedy with Undateable, but they just didn’t know how to promote it. They tried to by making it live, but then buried it on Fridays. The show just never had the support it needed. One season, it’s launched in the summer, then the next midseaon and finally the fall. People just didn’t know when to tune in because there was no consistency and no other strong sitcoms to pair it up with.
I am sure that everyone, who worked on the show, will land on their feet. I will just miss them. Someone give Bill Lawrence another show ASAP because he is the most caring Executive Producer out there who really cares about his show and the show’s fan. That and he knows humor!
Although, Lawrence just Tweeted that he will be shopping the show around and I pray someone buys it.
Undateable wasn’t the only show NBC broke up with today. They are no longer seeing Heartbeat, Crowded, Telenovela and Game of Silence. Heartbeat is their biggest loss of that bunch, another great show that was on the wrong network.
Talking about other networks. While ABC listened to the outraged fans and cancelled Castle after they lost one of the people who made up the show’s duo, Fox didn’t. Sleepy Hollow was renewed for a fourth season, even though the viewers were pissed that they killed off Nicole Beharie. That show, more than Castle, was built on the chemistry of the leads. Without that, the show will be deader than the Headless Horseman. I can’t wait to see how horrific the ratings will be for it.

Idiotest makes a dateable date with the Undateable men!
May 10th, 2016 under Bill Lawrence, Game Show Network, Ron Funches. [ Comments: none ]

Undateable is one of the smartest comedies on television, but how smart is the cast? Tonight at 10p, Rick Glassman, David Fynn, Ron Funches and Brent Morin test out their smarts on GSN’s Idiotest.
The four comedians will try their best to answer the clues that are given to them, while the host Ben Gleib tries to maintain control of his game show. Who has the harder task? The host obviously because these four funny men have a hard time trying to determine the obvious from the answer in questions like what in the picture has a 5 o’clock shadow or a which is the smallest hole they can get the pictured balloon through. The latter one leads to a hysterical joke from Gleib, thus helping them realize that this is his show and he’s the boss.
Why are stars of Undateable putting themselves through this Idiotest? It’s all for a good cause, the winning team will get to donate $10,000 to the charity of their choice. Glassman and Fynn are playing for the Red Cross and PATH: People Assisting the Homeless, and Funches and Morin are playing for Autism Speaks and Boys and Girls Club. Both teams and their charities are winners, just one is a bigger winner.
Tonight’s episode of Idiotest makes you use your brain two ways. The first is testing your wits as you try to guess which item in a photo answers the given question. Not everything is at it appears, so you really have to focus to determine the correct answer. The second one is allowing yourself to laugh for a half hour straight because that is what these 5 men accomplished. So be prepared for your brain and cheeks to hurt for a long time afterwards, and it is one of the few times where I say pain is a good thing.
Tune in Idiotest tonight to watch the cast of Undateable try to prove that they are not idiots and then keep tuning in every Tuesday at 10p to see everyday citizens to do the same thing. Plus, it is fun to use your brain in different way than it is used normally. It’s a muscle that needs this type of workout.

Rush Hour is a rush!
March 31st, 2016 under Bill Lawrence. [ Comments: none ]

The Rush Hour franchise is getting a weekly television makeover tonight at 10p on CBS and it is even better than the first two Jackie Chan/Chris Tucker movies.
By the books Detective Lee (Jon Foo) flies from Hong Kong to LA to arrest the crime syndicate that killed his sister back in their home country. He is assigned to work with Detective Carter (Justin Hires) who doesn’t know how to follow any rules and is technically on suspension by Captain Cole (Wendie Malik). Together their unusual pairing is unstoppable and causing huge problems around the city. Will Los Angeles survive them? You just have to tune in every week to this comedy action cop show that feels more like a big screen movie than something you would see on the small screen.
