Adrianne Curry weighs in on skinny models

Me on the Big Story  I just recently appeared on The Fox News Channel’s Big Story. I gave my opinion on the CRISIS that has been going on in the fashion world AND the entertainment industry. Woman are starving themselves to the point of what looks like near death. I have heard some fashionistas are blaming how thin they are on how young they are. If this is the case, then we need to regulate and unionize this industry!  Every other industry that involves CHILDREN is regulated by the goverment, why not this one? Is fashion important enough that we will torture and starve beautiful women just to please it? I cannot even tell you how many times I have been asked to lose weight by my old agency. I am skinny as hell! I was told that my muscles were fat. What is so appealing about skeletal women? Correct me if I am wrong, but most of the greatest Supermodels to date were WOMANLY. They have/had curves! When I would go on go and see’s, I would try to shove my "fat ass" into clothes that couldn’t even fit a 11 year old! I am 5′10 1/2 and 134 pounds. My waist is 25 inches, hips 35, bust 34. THIS is what the fashion world sees as too big. Now it’s spreading to entertainment, and real life. We as a nation nee to rise up and make this stop. Thanks for reading my rant! Sadly, the fashion world is littered with problems. I hope the goverment will step in and make sure that they crack down on them.

On another note, Chrissy and I have been out house hunting. We want to get a bigger place, get a puppy, ect. It’s been fun. The real estate market is crashing. We may keep our home now and rent it out. We will see. Anyway, I am off to see wat I have on my tivo.  I hope everyone has an amazing weekend!

Georgio Armani doesn’t work with models that are too skinny

Designer Giorgio Armani has blamed stylists and the media for the fashion industry’s obsession with ultra-thin women. In London to host a music and fashion extravaganza with stars Beyonce, 50 Cent and Bono, Armani said no girl needed to be anorexic to be fashionable. A debate about models’ weight has shaken the fashion world in recent days since Madrid banned excessively thin women from its catwalks after accusations their appearance may cause eating disorders in young women. "I have never wanted to use girls that are too skinny. I prefer girls that show off my clothes in the best way," Armani told Reuters Television after the show late on Thursday. "Unfortunately though, the stylists and also the media have interfered and they now want models that are incredibly thin." Armani, whose client list spans Hollywood to high finance, is a bellwether for the industry and the most powerful fashion insider yet to speak out on the weight debate. "No one thinks that for a girl to be fashionable she needs to be anorexic, that she must not eat. I will only take on healthy girls," he said. Armani made the comments on the red carpet of one of the most anticipated events of the fashion calendar and the hottest ticket of this week’s London Fashion Week. Before rock stars and actors, the 72-year-old designer hosted a three-hour show and launched a new fashion collection in support of (PRODUCT) RED, an activism venture of U2 rock star Bono aimed at raising funds to fight AIDS in Africa.

Good for him and if we can more top designers to say stuff like that maybe others will follow suit.

Michael Kors refuses to work with too thin models!
September 16th, 2006 under Thin Models Bad. [ Comments: none ]

Designer Michael Kors is heading a new trend in fashion – refusing to work with super-skinny models. The American fashion guru admits he’s sick of seeing unhealthy, waif-like girls on the catwalk and snubs anyone who looks unnaturally thin. He says, "Thin is fine but it has to be healthy. When I see a model come in and I look and I can tell this is not naturally how they’re supposed to look, we don’t book them." Kors has been joined by the organizers of the Madrid Fashion Week in Spain, which begins next week – they’ve insisted all catwalk models taking part pass a body mass index test. In the test, models must pass 18 on a scale based on their height and weight. One model who has been told to stay away from Madrid is superthin catwalk star Fabiana. She says, "I can’t go because I’m too skinny for them."

Good for him! Hopefully this message will not only reach the runway, but Hollywood too!
