D Hettrick was bored, so they rewrote the lyrics to Sweet Caroline to be useful during the Coronavirus crisis. Somehow, Neil Diamond got his freshly-washed hands on them and sang them for all of us to enjoy.

I hope he considers recording the reworked tune because I love it. It goes really well with some Red Red Wine.

Seriously, who else is going to be singing this version when they wash their hands now?

Neil Diamond teases a musical
January 23rd, 2020 under Neil Diamond. [ Comments: none ]

Back in 2018, Neil Diamond announced that he was retiring from touring because he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. What has he been doing since then?

Tonight, he gave us a little hint. The singer posted a photo of a title page for The Untitled Neil Diamond Musical in which he wrote the lyrics and music. What does that mean? We don’t know because all he wrote with the photo is “👀”.

Does that mean we will be getting a Rocketman or a Mamma Mia? We don’t know. However, his music is perfect for either. If it is his old music. It could be all-new songs. We have no clue, but I hope we find out soon. Who doesn’t love Neil Diamond music? It is like comfort food.

Neil Diamond performed for the first time since revealing he has Parkinson’s
June 15th, 2018 under Neil Diamond. [ Comments: none ]

Back in January, Neil Diamond revealed that he has Parkinson’s and was retiring from touring effective immediately. Last night, he made his first public appearance since then at the Songwriters Hall of Fame event in New York where he was honored with the Johnny Mercer Award.

Before he accepted his much-deserved award and performed Sweet Caroline, he spoke to the AP. When they asked the legendary singer how he was doing. The 77-year-old told them, “I feel great! I feel great!” Not only does he feel great, he looks it too.

Now, I am going to get political. I think his song America should be our new National Anthem. It is everything America is all about. Plus, it easier to sing, remember and get pumped up to over the Star Spangled Banner. Even the President could remember the lyrics! Who is with me?

Neil Diamond’s music makes us feel good and now we have to return the favor as he reveals some sad news. The 76-year-old announced yesterday on his site that he was retiring from touring effective immediately because he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

Don’t be all song sung blue because even though it is hard for him travel, he will still be writing and recording music. Diamond has a message for his fans, “My thanks goes out to my loyal and devoted audiences around the world. You will always have my appreciation for your support and encouragement. This ride has been ‘so good, so good, so good’ thanks to you.”

While he might not be on the road anymore, his ride is far from over. Thank you for all the joy you have given us when you were on tour. Which I now regret never seeing him perform live because who doesn’t love his song?

Sweet Caroline as a Christmas Carol!
December 15th, 2016 under James Corden, Neil Diamond. [ Comments: none ]

Neil Diamond has released several Christmas Carols throughout his career but I don’t think he’s ever turned any of his songs into a Christmas one. Well yesterday that all changed on The Late Late Show when James Corden asked him to rework his tune Sweet Caroline into a Sweet Christmanstime and now we all have a song we go Caroling to. Well maybe only at work the day after the Holiday party and change up the names, but still…
For an added bonus, here he is singing a Christmas Melody!
